jennblee Posted January 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Hi, we are sailing this summer. Looking for suggestions on parking our vehicle in Ft. Lauderdale while on cruise. Preferred lots? Hotels with free cruise parking? We are planning to book a room for the night before. Thanks!
NewSalt Posted January 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We used to use the Comfort Inn in Dania Beach; it was inexpensive, they charged a minimal fee ($20?) for parking, and had a free shuttle. However, the wait for the shuttle on the return was quite long, over an hour, on our last trip. They have since increased the parking fee as well as charging for the shuttle, and we began to use the Park N Sail, a few minutes away from the port. It was easy, the drivers were waiting when we disembarked, and IIRC less expensive. We booked on line and paid about $7/day. We plan to use them in the future. Kathie13 Posted January 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We are staying at Hampton Inn in Plantation. About 10 miles. Free to port. Free breakfast. Parking for 7 nights for all 3 of us for $169 plus tax. Good reviews.

molly361 Posted January 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We use Park N Go in Ft Lauderdale. They are located right outside the cruise area.
Ken at the beach Posted January 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Park n Go right next to the port. They have lots of shuttles. Book on line ahead of time and save $3.50 per day. I just booked for our March cruise and it was $68.72. https://bookparkngo.com
CONCH65 Posted January 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We use Park N Go in Ft Lauderdale. They are located right outside the cruise area. I agree. We just reserved our spot in advance. $59.19 for our 6 night cruise. We have used them twice before and they are very efficient with many shuttle vans running back and forth from parking to the port. RocketMan275 Posted January 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) We used the port parking for our cruise on Oasis. We self-debarked, walked less than a block to our car, and were packed up, paid out, and on the way by 6:45. The port was around $95. We stayed at the E/S for our Princess cruise and used their on-site parking. It wasn't free. By the time we added a taxi to/from the port, it was about the cost of port parking. We had to find a cab and travel back to the hotel, so we were on the road around 7:30. You can save $5PD by parking elsewhere. You'll need to decide whether the delay in getting on the road is worth the savings. We have a 14 hour drive home so waiting for shuttles is doesn't work for us. Our next cruise is Westerdam. We will be parking at the port. Edited January 24, 2016 by RocketMan275
jennblee Posted January 24, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted January 24, 2016 How full do the lots get? How likely that lot would be full?

Murphy Posted January 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 25, 2016 We park at the port as well. Never had a problem getting a spot and all times except one we were able to park about 100 ft from the terminal. Very convenient for terminal 18 and 4 especially. SandiNapa Posted January 25, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Park and Go definatly. Plenty of shuttles to the port and plenty back when you return. They parked our car for us and dropped us at our car upon return. Book online for a discount.

dd0yl3 Posted January 25, 2016 #15 Share Posted January 25, 2016 I have used Park N Go on our last cruise and from the time of dropping of the car and being at the line to board was probably 15 min. It's quick and pretty good price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ken at the beach Posted January 25, 2016 #17 Share Posted January 25, 2016 It was the fullest I have ever seen it last November. I would not chance it without a reservation I saw that there were 8 ships in port the day we leave in March and made our reservations 3 months in advance. jennblee Posted January 25, 2016 Author #18 Share Posted January 25, 2016 I saw that there were 8 ships in port the day we leave in March and made our reservations 3 months in advance. How do you find out that info? We sail on June 12th Jenn
rucruisn2 Posted January 25, 2016 #19 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Going in June will mean allot less ships in the port. We always park at the port for convience sake. Just off the Allure, there is an outdoor lot just steps away for the ship, $15.00 a day.
capriccio Posted January 25, 2016 #20 Share Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) How full do the lots get? How likely that lot would be full? There are multiple garages and lots at Port Everglades and in years of reading this Board I've never heard of the lots being full. Of course you should arrive after most of the incoming passengers have disembarked (around 9:30) and cleared the garages and lots. For more info on the port see http://www.porteverglades.net.
