Parking at Port in Ft. Lauderdale

Hi, we are sailing this summer. Looking for suggestions on parking our vehicle in Ft. Lauderdale while on cruise. Preferred lots? Hotels with free cruise parking? We are planning to book a room for the night before.

Thanks!

We used to use the Comfort Inn in Dania Beach; it was inexpensive, they charged a minimal fee ($20?) for parking, and had a free shuttle. However, the wait for the shuttle on the return was quite long, over an hour, on our last trip. They have since increased the parking fee as well as charging for the shuttle, and we began to use the Park N Sail, a few minutes away from the port. It was easy, the drivers were waiting when we disembarked, and IIRC less expensive. We booked on line and paid about $7/day.

We plan to use them in the future.

We use Park N Go in Ft Lauderdale. They are located right outside the cruise area.

I agree. We just reserved our spot in advance. $59.19 for our 6 night cruise. We have used them twice before and they are very efficient with many shuttle vans running back and forth from parking to the port.

We used the port parking for our cruise on Oasis. We self-debarked, walked less than a block to our car, and were packed up, paid out, and on the way by 6:45. The port was around $95.

We stayed at the E/S for our Princess cruise and used their on-site parking. It wasn't free. By the time we added a taxi to/from the port, it was about the cost of port parking. We had to find a cab and travel back to the hotel, so we were on the road around 7:30.

You can save $5PD by parking elsewhere. You'll need to decide whether the delay in getting on the road is worth the savings. We have a 14 hour drive home so waiting for shuttles is doesn't work for us.

Our next cruise is Westerdam. We will be parking at the port.

I have used Park N Go on our last cruise and from the time of dropping of the car and being at the line to board was probably 15 min. It's quick and pretty good price.

How full do the lots get? How likely that lot would be full?

There are multiple garages and lots at Port Everglades and in years of reading this Board I've never heard of the lots being full. Of course you should arrive after most of the incoming passengers have disembarked (around 9:30) and cleared the garages and lots. For more info on the port see http://www.porteverglades.net.
