Wonderful review! Was fun to read and now the photos of the food have me hungry!!

We went on the Breeze out of Miami about a year ago and it was by far my absolutely favorite cruise and ship. She is going to be hard to compare to!!

I have a quick question. We too are taking a Thanksgiving cruise with all of our family this November. We will be on the Sunshine. I was so curious how Thanksgiving dinner was? This is our first time not cooking our own food - which was also part of the reason we planned so we don't have to work so hard with buying, prepping, and cleaning but some of the nostalgia is to be missed I am sure!!

I have read in the past sub par Thanksgiving food so I was curious with the new American Table menus out, if the Thanksgiving dinner was any better?? If it is still sub par I was wondering if I should book a speciality restaurant that evening instead or just roll with it? Would love your opinion!! Thanks :)

Personally, the Thanksgiving turkey dish was very tasty and satisfying. My wife had the ham and it left lots to be desired. Stick with the turkey and you should be fine. If you find you don't like it you can always order a steakhouse lobster or steak right in the MDR. We did that a couple days.

As for the nostalgia of Thanksgiving at home I did not miss it at all. Was it different on the ship yes, but it brought a whole new dynamic to the holiday. Being waited on hand and foot is very relaxing and did not take any getting use to lol.

This trip was one for the ages and I was glad that the family enjoyed it as much as they did.

The ship had everything we needed and then some. There was always something for us to do and/or see. We did not experience much over crowding, but we tended to do our own thing and stay away from the more heavily used areas during peak times. Overall, there were several things that happened on the boat that we did not even get to experience because we were doing other things.

The only two thing I wish they would do differently were:

1. Add more ventilation to the Casino to help with the smoke. I am not anti-smoking but it did get too heavy at some points.

2. The seaside BBQ was more like a seaside Grill. No smoke and too fancy. I am a old school southern boy and BBQ means one thing to me. I am interested to see what changes now that Guy is running the place.

These were small in my mind and would not deter me from going again. I would like to go back for the 6 day before it repositions, but I am already booked on the Vista and 2 cruises in a year are not in the books right now.

Thanks to all those who followed this post. I will do another one after the Vista cruise.

Awesome review, loved how it followed, we are going on the Breeze out of Galveston in September, and going on the Vista next year 2017 out of Miami, now I am really pumped...

Finally back on Cruise critic after a long hiatus... Aka not having anything planned lol. Saw your link on my review and had to read it

Loved it made me feel like I was back on ship. Your port days sounded so relaxing! The family is adorable too!

Great job, can't wait to read about your Vista! Or have I missed that too lol
