Serenade pros and cons

Thanks. So, if I understand correctly, the VC is open to all during the day. Just not during the cocktail hour. Sounds good.

Can't wait until our cruise in April.

Yes, you are correct! Open to all, just closed for "private event" at night only when there are too many D's and above that overflow into the connecting DL.

Just off the Serenade as well and loved it! No problems with food, but we're fine eating a burger if we don't like anything else. Of course sitting out back in the open part of the Windjammer overlooking the wake would make anything taste good!

We did MTD with a request for a 2 person table. Set reservations ahead of time and had the same server. Just canceled the reservations when we decided to eat in the WJ.

It was definitely more crowded than other cruises. I thought it may have been because there were so few kids. More adults = more chairs taken up. But a little secret hang out spot is back where the kids pool is. No kids back there so plenty of open chairs!

Watch your Cruise Compass for the 10 drink card, it was posted the night before.

Would definitely go on Serenade again and do the Southern route!

Ditto to that! :)

We are already booked for next year again.

[Q UOTE=island lady;49147275]On our 2/5 sailing there was no DL concierge. CL concierge was filling in for both lounges.

He was very busy with over 500 D's and up.

This is a little off subject, but since you live in Port Everglades, can you recommend a good hotel near the terminal with a reasonable price? We need 2 rooms so a good price is great. We are going on a Princess Cruise next Feb.

All questions are welcome. We are here to help! However, this question will be best served by another CC member, since I actually live outside of Port Canaveral. Think "land of the mouse" Orlando and go directly east until you hit the ocean. ;)

It is a three hour drive south through very heavy nail biter traffic for us to travel from home to Port Everglades. DH won't stay in a hotel down there the night before, so we get up very early to drive down the day of, when we are boarding a cruise leaving from there.
