qbay46 Posted February 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2016 hi, I am in the process of filling out our application for Indian tourist visa, we will be arriving in Cochin on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I have filled in most questions and have got to the question where they ask for reference in India and Australia. They want name, address and phone. If there is someone out there that has filled this out and knows the answer to these questions i would be very grateful Thankyou
vozzie Posted February 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Well, Australia should be easy...next of kin? In India, I would guess that the Ship's Agents would be the likely suspects.
happysnapper Posted February 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2016 From other CCs and also Trip Advisor posts it would appear to be a very expensive and difficult process. Some people have even cancelled their bookings on cruises that include India for these very reasons. Good luck.
tomatosauce Posted February 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2016 You need to enter the details of the port agents who are J M Baxi and Co. Also don't submit your application until within 60 days of when you are going to be there. The visa lasts 60 days and starts the day that it is issued. bronte2 Posted February 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We just used the ship's agent in Mumbai which was where we were docking. I know others who just used the name of the ship and they had no problems. We found the whole process pretty easy once we had got through the questions :D We opted to go down to Brisbane and drop off the applications at the visa processing centre (although I think the firm doing the processing has changed since we lodged), they checked the form and next day we had a call to say the visas and passports were on their way by Priority mail. In the end, it turned out to be very straightforward.
