The Compass I saw with the link that was given indicates that the time you can go is determined by your muster station number. That's a new concept! Not sure how this will work but we are about to find out in a couple weeks. They also have a "stand by" option where any open seats are available just before the show starts. Sounds like it pays not to be late if you have tickets!

No tickets involved. Just times per muster station. Gold card holders may go to any show, and there is reserved seating for them

The procedure worked smoothly when I was on Liberty. We did go to get seats right at the opening time and the place filled rapidly. Not sure how many (if any) of the "stand-bys" got seats.

Yes, they allow guests in the standby line to enter about 10 minutes before the show starts.

Ice show times were 2:00 and 4:00 PM on Day 2 and Day 7. As mentioned it is by Muster station. However, we missed our "scheduled" time and went to the final show and found good seats less than 10 minutes before show time.

Just wanted to add that the Ice Show is only on Sea Days, and it's a decent show but it's not like your local Arena Ice Capades. It's a small ice rink, about half the size of a basketball court, so they can't exactly scream around doing massive stunts. It's more like a dance/music show that just happens to be done on ice instead of some olympic level ice stunt exhibition.

 

I enjoyed the show but it's the same level of entertainment as everything else on the ship - fun to see, something to do, but if you miss it, it's not like you're missing out on some once in a lifetime experience.

They are assigning ice show performances by your muster station number, which is printed on your SeaPass card. Nothing about Coast Guard rules, just a more convenient way for them to split up the performances instead of listing multiple ranges of stateroom numbers.

no, its just their way of insuring everyone has a chance at seeing the show as the venue is small and c cannot accommodate everyone at once.
