Hey,

I have seen so many people complaining over the last year about the Changes made by Carnival over the past couple years. I have also seen people say those things do not mater to them, and some people outright cheerleading for Carnival.....So as you all know Carnival keeps a eye out on these boards...so lets help Carnival(who has always been good to me and I like) learn before a change is to be made...

What would be the last straw Carnival would have to do to make you move to another cruise Line or go AI or more land based vacations?????

I will start with me.......Entertainment:mad: (except for Comedy Club and Newlywed game) and with RC coming with Ships with Riplines, flow riders... Ice/water shows...etc. However I am currently am trying to book Hawaii 2017 on Carnival so RC hasn't got me yet.......Lets Hear from You?????:D

For a cost-effective cruise...nothing, unless something out of control happened during the cruise affecting everyone and Carnival decided to not do anything about it.

If I want luxury, I'll book a luxury cruise line.

As far as comedy club, can't stand comedians who have to "f" bomb every other word in the adult show, just because it's the adult show. Does that somehow make your jokes better?

Waiting to see if a Hawaii cruise will be available from LA in April 2018 (our 20th). BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE CARNIVAL OFFER A HAWAII/TAHITI cruise.

Hmmm, what would make me leave carnival? If they allow smoking in more places on the ship or if I had a terrible experience like the poop cruise I'd probably never come back. But that's just me! Also if it cost as much as RCI I'd probably choose RCI, so if value wasn't there.

I sail Carnival because they

1) Have good prices

2) Sail out of Norfolk, VA

3) Offer an onboard experience I enjoy.

Losing those things would make me stop sailing Carnival.

To elaborate just slightly, they didn't offer any sailings I liked out of Norfolk in 2017 so I didn't book with them. No biggie, not leaving them forever. Just didn't see anything they offered that appealed to me.

Regarding point 3, I would never complain or leave because they offered things onboard that DIDN'T appeal to me. I don't like the R-rated comedy shows, so I don't go to them. End of story. But if they couldn't offer the things I DO like, I'd be gone.

Honestly, though, I see myself continuing to cruise with them. I love the product, and have always had a great vacation with Carnival.

They will probably eventually price themselves out of my economic reality.

Or if the main dining room offerings become grim and the numbers of extra fee eateries increases.

And if they do more of the "class system" sort of things, like keeping some areas of the ship for the exclusive use of "first class" passengers.

We have been platinum for quite a while, but I shop all the alternatives for every cruise.

So I guess we are loyal to ourselves and our budget.

I choose a cruise based on the value I'm getting for my money. The frequent cruiser perks for Carnival aren't good enough to pay a premium for Carnival, so I consider myself a free agent.

Bottom line: there's not one thing that Carnival could do t make me not cruise with them. I will always base my cruising on the best value I can get for my dollar. For now, the casino rates keep me on Carnival.

I want first and foremost a clean and safe environment. Staffing cutbacks is becoming evident in these areas. Last Cruise on Conquest in Sept 2015, dirty plates left on tables, ice cream machines were nasty, soggy cones accumulating in drain, drips down the machine with melted ice cream/yogurt. Carpet was wet and smelled horrible after pipes broke 3 times in the one week. Entertainment staff was AWOL except for one female and the CD. CD gave it his best, but he needed help! Lots of fun on the funship has diminished to trivia, trivia, trivia.....after that you have to pay big bucks to play. Even bingo has gotten out of reasonable price. Think you can relax for free by the pool.....think again. All lounge chairs have a towel saving them, no one enforces the rules, so a sea full of empty chairs, but not accessible. Gone are the days of beautiful fruit carvings....its not just tablecloths that have gone. On the Conquest, very little fruit variety. Cantelopes and more cantelopes, a tad of watermelon and strawberries sprinkled in. Had to search for the good stuff. Lemonade and hot choc machines out of order with only few operating.

Staff the ships Carnival, and know that we feel the cutbacks.

.

The pay restaurants are increasing because the passengers are paying.

The people fell right in the cruise lines trap.

I would not pay a dime to eat on a ship. The thought of it is insane.

This sounds grim.

I sell antiques and I like old, but I do not like dirty.

I have done one 7 day on Conquest and one day I searched for a deck chair in the shade and coulc not find one.

It made me angry actually.

Went back to the cabin and took a nap.

Conquest is my least favorite ship, so far anyway.

You are right about the melons.

It is not new, but there is a lot of melon served.

I notice this because I am allergic to melon.

I do book land vacations and other cruise lines but I don't consider that leaving Carnival....in fact just booked a cruise on them last week. I book the vacation that best fits our wants for that particular vacation and those wants change...hmmm...just like the cruise lines do and just like the places do we travel to on land vacations. I don't think I would ever say I am leaving any thing out. I just narrow down what I want (based on what is being offered at that vacation spot today) for the price I am wiling to pay for it. No need to limit choices based on what was.

Priority number one is value for the money. I work hard all year to be able to afford to go on a vacation. If Carnival ever started charging money for food (or eliminated free food in MDR) OR for entertainment, we're done. I also require being able to cruise out of New Orleans because we can drive there.

I would stop going on carnival to get away from all the people who complain about how bad carnival is and how they would leave carnival because of something they don't like.

They would love to eliminate the free food in the dining room.

The passengers created the mess by continuing to pay pay pay to eat.

Its getting worse and worse.

cruise lines are thrilled to take the suckers, OOPPS- I mean the cruisers fine money to eat.

We are going on Royal Caribbean in May on the Liberty of the Seas after our many cruises with Carnival. We are not unhappy with Carnival but we want to try something different. However, we have noticed a price increase with Carnival and we could go on Royal for $500 cheaper and a $200 OBC. We have not sailed Royal Caribbean in over 10 years and when we did it was on one of their smaller ships.

Price. If I was looking to book I'd be doing research. I've seen lots of promotions which include free grautities and beverage packages. Figuring those in I'm starting to think carnival is no longer much lower. For a few dollars more I can get a more upscale experience I'm going to do it.

Not much, I like Carnival. If they did not have interesting itineraries, something new once in awhile... I like longer cruises, Carnival Journeys, transatlantics on new ships coming over, Europe, repositioning cruises. I am retired so these are the trips I like now but on a Carnival ship. Have done some interesting NCL if Carnival doesn't go somewhere in particular.

My last cruise, I only really enjoyed the ports and one comedian. I am giving it another try this May. If I have the same results in May, I will likely avoid Carnival until I try out a few other cruise lines or some all-inclusive resorts. Life is too short to waste vacation Leave room work on mediocre days at sea.
