JPR Posted March 10, 2016 #101 Share Posted March 10, 2016 The first couple pages of recipes tend to be too sweet for my taste. And, in this era of Spellcheck, why can't people manage to spell "Caesar" correctly?
Rare Catlover54 Posted March 11, 2016 #102 Share Posted March 11, 2016 I sincerely hope things get better for the remainder of this cruise and that Regent is more than generous in compensating all pax. Poss/TC2: I absolutely LOVE "my best cocktails" website. :D:D Interesting twist on their classic Margarita recipe. Going to go home today and make one (or two) using their recipe. As far as The Boss is concerned, her "little pink drink" is actually a cosmo. Off topic, of course, but in addition to acknowleding the pink or red cosmo, I can't resist adding the "pink lady" to the list of reddish drinks, which I have been drinking lately for fun when red cosmos get old (maybe The Boss would like it :) gin (double preferred) grenadine to make it as pink or red as you like, an egg white, heavy cream, maybe lemon http://www.chowhound.com/recipes/pink-lady-10281

mrlevin Posted March 17, 2016 #104 Share Posted March 17, 2016 Now that the Mariner has left the Amazon, will the reports resume? I have really been interested in all the reports; especially as our cruise on the Mariner is just three weeks away. Marc
nuneham Posted March 20, 2016 #105 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Have also been hoping for news. Has the GI infection been beaten? Is the emergency generator still on deck?
Kwaj girl Posted March 20, 2016 #106 Share Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) Arrived Barbados this morning; Captain Serena did make a general announcement that so far this cruise there has been a 2% incidence of "acute gastroenteritis" so we may notice that they have been stepping-up sanitation measures once again. But the salt and pepper shakers were still on the tables at breakfast and the hand towels are still in the public restrooms so I imagine this will be pretty transparent to the passengers at this point. We have a lovely sunny and quite warm day for Palm Sunday. Rather than take a tour we opted to walk to St Patrick's Cathedral for Sunday Mass - very moving, I must say. Well worth the 1.75-mile walk each way. Of course taxis stopped us all along the way trying to take us on a tour or to the church. Many places are closed because it is Sunday but lots of touristy as well as local hole-in-the-wall bars were open along the way as we walked back to the ship. And the generator is still on deck. Doesn't interfere too much except for those that want to walk all the way around the aft of deck 12. Rumor has it that it will be removed in Miami, but that's just a rumor. nuneham Posted March 20, 2016 #107 Share Posted March 20, 2016 So the mini golf thing is still available and La Veranda open both sides?
Kwaj girl Posted March 20, 2016 #108 Share Posted March 20, 2016 So the mini golf thing is still available and La Veranda open both sides? Yes, mini golf is available. One side of La Veranda is fully open and the other is in partial use. They had to put some floor to ceiling supports (to support the weight of the generator immediately above) in one section of one side and they curtained that area to keep people out of it as well as for cosmetic purposes. Not a big deal. Sette Mare is still operational.
