I did the upsell...now can I hold the secret

My upcoming BA, I bit the bullet and caled the upsell number and was upgraded (for a cost) from a balcony BD to a Haven H4.

I think I got a good deal since based on the website, I saved 66% and the cost was no more than a minisuite at present time.

Now I have to keep the secret for another 2 weeks... I had hinted before I could get the room but then declined and I don't think they are thinking of it at all...

Questions...

I have read through most of the post (under the seatch Breakaway and H4)...

My daughter LOVES pizza - can that be delivered to the room at no fee? Or do you have to pay the pizza delivery fee.

I see that there is a window in the shower area - is that tinted? Looks like people can see in...mind you in the middle of the sea, in the middle of the night, who is really looking but curious.

Any hint, tips, not to miss would be awesome...I just needed to tell someone as I cannot say anything to anyone else...

NCL did away with the shipwide $5 per pie pizza delivery when the room service charge was introduced.

So to my understanding since room service charge is not charged from suite passengers, you can get pizza delivered to suites for free nowadays.

Thanks I hope they don't get addicted to it. This is the first solo cruise (usually we go with my parents or friends) and my DD12 has had a bad year at school (which also stressed DW out).. so I thought this might be a nice surprise...

Hopefully, nice and relaxing. .. no having to deal with chair hogs, etc...

Nice, I'm on the 3/20 sailing. I too called the upsell # looking to get an aft balcony, no such luck. They did offer me courtyard penthouse for an extra 1500 ,declined.I called the next day was offered same room again for 1000, 2br 2000 ,and DOS for 3k more. I declined again,do to the fact that we are going with a group of 12 and wouldn't use the haven to it full potential, if we were alone game on. I asked about the aft balcony again and got it for 200. It was originally over 900 more at time of booking, so at 2500 total for 3 with UBP and soda promo ,port taxes I'm happy. Would be happier in the haven though.

Both DD are allergic to nuts. Is there a contact email to let them know ahead of time? I see they bring snacks throughout the day to the room, so I would like them to know. I guess I could tell them once I get there...

You will get addicted.

Once you go suite, it's hard to go back!! Have a great time and keep it a secret! [emoji2]

I've done NCL once and Haven once. Not going back.

Yes, just call the main NCL number and let the reservation person know about the food allergy. They will make a note of it on your profile and then the Access Desk will send you a form to fill out detailing the food allergy. At least that's how they handled by DS's shellfish allergy.

See here for contact information for NCL's Access Desk, they will handle things like this:

Have a great time!!

It's a little easier for me to keep the secret since I'm not in the same house as my roommates on this cruise. (I'm going with my mom & sister) My sister might figure it out because she's been looking at the NCL website and has seen that Haven is a different area. My mom won't understand until we're in the room and even then I'll have to tell her we're in a suite.

I kept an upgrade secret on our Med cruise on the Jade. We went from a balcony to a 2 bedroom penthouse "Jade Suite", but my DW had no idea.

You may have to tell them - or they will catch on - when you check in at the port. If it happens like it did with us, they will escort you into a lounge area and then your butler will come and escort you onboard.

Because we met another couple that were excited to be in a suite and were with them at check in, she thought the NCL port people were making a mistake when they escorted the four of us into the lounge. Then she thought that NCL was letting us on the ship early because we were with them. She didn't actually realize we were in a suite until we walked into it and saw the bathrooms.

Since your wife has been stressed out, do buy a spa pass for her - the spa on this ship is totally awesome and it is a great place to relax. Then you will have 2 secrets to keep! LOL!

We also recently upselled to a Haven suite for our upcoming BA cruise. Shortly after, we received new luggage tags and a letter in the mail. The letter stated "as a guest of The Haven, you can make special requests and arrange a variety of services and amenities prior to your sailing through our Concierge Desk. Call 1-855-625-4283, Mon. thru Fri. 9am to 9pm EST.

So you can call before you cruise. Congrats on the Suite, this will also be our first suite, we were able to keep it a secret from our DD for all of 10 minutes! :)

I guess you are right, once we start checking in they will figure it out...but even that would be a nice surprise. They have no idea what a Haven suite is... just that it is a special room to get access too...

Mystery..

I do the same thing with gifts, lol! I'm forever giving them early and then buying more so there will still be gifts to open on the right day.

Stay strong and don't tell about the upgrade, you can do it!

Good luck with your secret!! I also recently upgraded to a suite (no haven since we are on the star) and am trying to keep it a secret until the morning we board. I am traveling with my mom who lives cross country from me so that makes it a little easier, but still tough!

Hey, F That couple was us and I remember her face, it was priceless. How are you doing?
