CLOU Posted March 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2016 We will be in Bar Harbor off our cruise at the end of September. We were considering going on the Ollie's Trolley tour. Does anyone know if we need to make advance reservations, or can we simply make arrangements after we dock. If it affects your answer, it appears there may be 3 cruise ships in port that day. Any info on this or other considerations for Bar Harbor would be appreciated. Thanks.
SailBadtheSinner Posted March 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2016 With 3 cruise ships in port and the non-cruise ship visitors, it should be a busy day for Oli and other tour operators so I would suggest making reservations. Also, Bar Harbor is a tender port, keep that in mind. What cruise ship are you on? SBtS
Rare 1025cruise Posted March 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2016 I don't want to imagine 3 ships in Bar Harbor at once. Yes, book in advance.
Rare mskaufman Posted March 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2016 We were happy that we booked in advance
CLOU Posted March 11, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Thanks. I think we will go ahead and book in advance. We are on the Seabourn Quest. We are due in at 7:00 a.m. and tendering off a Seabourn ship is never an issue, since the ships are so small, so we can book an early tour. I agree that tendering off the Seabourn Quest won't be a problem. Where I see the problem is when unloading the tenders from 3 cruise ships. A second tender dock should be used but I still see a queue of tenders waiting to unload; be prepared! SBtS
CLOU Posted March 11, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Luckily we get in at 7:00, although so does one of the other ships. I would think we could make a 10:00 tour without any problem.
sail7seas Posted March 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2016 You may have to clear CBP before anyone leaves the ship. Is Bar Harbor the first port after being out of the country? Or will you be coming from a U.S. Port?
CLOU Posted March 12, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted March 12, 2016 No customs issue. We are coming from Boston and heading to Canada after Bar Harbor.

geomarc Posted June 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted June 24, 2016 There will be one other ship in port with us in Bar Harbor. We dock at 8:00 and will have to go thru immigration. Will a 10 am Oli's Trolley reservation be good?
