Who still orders liquor from Bon Voyage?

Need help deciding if we want to spend $80 on a bottle. I know it would still work out cheaper in the long run but is it worth it anymore? How much are drink specials now? It's been a while since we have been on Carnival. Last time we ordered a bottle it was $40. Drink package is out of the budget.

I ordered a bottle of kahlua for our b2b next month. I plan on getting milk from the breakfast buffet and keeping it in the fridge. I'm not a big drinker but think I can manage to get thru it in two weeks. :D at $80 I figure it's much cheaper than individual kahlua and creams.

I always order a bottle of Bacardi rum. It's cheaper than the Cheers package.

We buy it and add the 6 pack of diet (or regular) coke for $5 more... a 6 pack of coke by itself from BV is $10.

Last cruise we got a bottle of vodka and a bottle of rum (both with mixers for $5 extra) and by the 2nd night had the Drinks on Us card from the casino.. never got the Cheers package, upcoming cruise, one bottle of rum, DOU card will be waiting for us. For us it's well worth it, plus there's always a nightcap in the room if needed.

If you bought 3-4 bottles and mixers it still would be cheaper than 2 people buying Cheers on 5 nights or longer.

That reminds me, I have to by some Oakheart and some Sprite Zero to make sure it's potable:D.

We did not buy one on our last cruise, but only because it was a 5 day and due to health issues we were not drinking much at the time.

We always buy on a 7 day or longer. It is expensive, but still cheaper than buying at the bar. And we still have a small bar bill from beer and other mixed drinks throughout the week.

On our last cruise in Feb (2016) room service had a section of party set-ups, one of them was 4 bottles of booze and mixers - and I think some snacks.. It was around $150 or 175??? something like that. I think it had limes or lemons as well, again not sure. At any rate the bottles were like 450 or 400 ml bottles... I think it was gin/vodka/rum/ and some sort whiskey/bourbon/brown liquor. It seemed to be available the entire cruise but maybe not.

On our last cruise we bought the Oakheart rum with diet Coke to have on the balcony. Already have it ordered for the next cruise. So much more convenient than ordering room service or bringing it back to the room one drink at a time.

The cruise after that in June we have an inside cabin so we won't bother with ordering anything. I really like having it for a balcony cabin though.

We still bring our own on, but the day they get smarter than I, Bon Voyage is the cheapest thing offered. It pays for itself in about 8 shots/drinks for the whole cruise, while others have to buy 7 or 8 drinks with the cheers program every day.

No way would I be fooled to buy the overpriced Cheers program with the restrictions.

I never understand how people complain about the price of a bottle but then go ahead and pay over $50 a day (x2 if a couple) and think it's a good deal. If I drink beer 15 is not hard to hit one day, then the next a couple of drinks would be the max I would want, most likely nothing! So I just lost out on that day. A bottle (or 2) in the room, buying some drinks or buckets of beers here and there ends up for us being a much better deal.

We have had the premium drinks package on Celebrity as an upgrade from the "free" classic package that came with cabin... I think it was a $100 upgrade fee and is truly unlimited including basically everything to drink, booze, beer, coffees (with booze), waters, cokes, etc. Now that was worth it!

Plus you can take home what you don't use.

Don't know if you realized it but Carnival has improved their cheers program...

The following beverages are now available within the enhanced CHEERS! program:

All spirits, including cocktails, cognacs, whiskies and other spirits, as well as beer and glasses of wine, with a $50 USD or lower menu price per serving

Zero-Proof frozen cocktails, sodas (including specialty sodas) and juices

Specialty coffees and teas served in the main dining rooms, specialty restaurants and coffee bars

Milkshakes

RockStar energy drinks, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Coconut Water and Honest Tea

500ml bottles of water served in bars and lounges

Large format (1 liter and 1.5-liter) bottles of water in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants

25 percent discount off the menu price for any spirit, cocktail or wine by the glass, costing above $50 USD per serving

25 percent discount off the menu price for wine and champagne by the bottle and larger format water bottles purchased outside the main dining rooms or specialty restaurants

25 percent discount off the menu price for all beverage classes and seminars

Also why would one buy the mixer package unless you don't have time to detour to a grocery store of some sort...you are allowed 2 carry on bags each (so why not have one as a 12pack of pop? That is allowed)

If it is purchased with the bottle the mixer if $5 for a 6 pack. Not too bad and since we are flying to the port and may not have the time to stop to buy some we figure it's worth it to make sure we have some in the cabin.

Only two carry-ons per person? I'll be traveling with a c-pap machine. I know I have to carry that on. Do I get another carry-on (one for pop and the other for change of clothes) or just my c-pap and choice of pop or swim suit?
