Anything in Ler Verdon ?

Hi folks. In May we're docking into the French port of Le Verdon on the Emerald Princess. We know little (nothing) about this port, anyone any comments or opinions to share please. Anything to do in the town?, is it a nice/pretty place?, any advice would be most welcome.

We docked at Le Verdon a couple of years ago. It is a small commercial port - no facilities at all. Trips were available to Bordeaux but Princess also put on shuttle transfers to Soulac-sur-Mer about 20 mins away. This was a nice small seaside resort with some shops/restaurants and a local market selling wines & cheeses. You could also go to the beach or walk along the seafront.

I agree we have docked at Le Verdon a number of times, and look forward to our day in Soulac sur mer.

We had the same experience Rubynic mentioned but on a different cruise line.

 

We took the 20 minute shuttle. Small town.

We will be there in May 2018, does anyone know if they'll run the shuttle again next year. Did they even run the shuttle last year. If so, how often was it and how much?

We will stop at Le Verdon-sur-Mer in May, sailing on the Oceania MARINA. Has anyone been there on a Oceania Cruise and did they provide a shuttle to somewhere, e.g. ferry to Royan, Souillac-sur-Mer?

Were you able to get a private tour that picked you up at the cruise port in Le Verdon? We have been to the Medoc before and know that there's many reachable wineries from the port area. Thank you!
