Yes, I won a bracelet, the charm bracelets like Pandora, and I only had one ticket. I don't go to theses things especially but I happened to be there at the right time. :)

I also won my choice of one of the bracelets and ended up purchasing extra beads for it. On Celebrity I won a 14k gold double heart pendant! You can't win if you don't enter.

I won a Casino raffle once on Liberty, it was held the last night of the cruise and you had to be there (10PM) to win...they called 5 numbers, all no shows before calling my number. I won a Casino Royal Polo shirt, 2 drink vouchers, 2 $5 roulette plays. The best part was that I was on B2B so I did not have to use the vouchers that night I used them on the next cruise....

I've won many bottles of Champaign and Casino Crap in the Casino raffles. I won the very nice watch give away a few cruises back ($500 watch) - raffle in the shops on the last night. I've won raffles at BINGO. I also won the snowball jackpot from Bingo on our Christmas Cruise... OH... I did win a cruise once in a Casino Give Away... :) That was sweet!

I have loved going to the spa tours....they are fun to me....and always stand hopeful at the spa raffle that my name will be called. Well....it happened on the Allure. Won $150 certificate. Was thrilled. Got to the room and read the fine print.....only good on port days. what!!! So, went to book the service on Nassau day as we were staying on board. Next surprise... ...only good on select services. WHAT???!!! Went for the appointment....when it came time to pay...it was like they had no idea what a spa raffle was or how there could possibly be such a thing. Finally got that resolved...but could not use any of the winnings toward the tip.....still got billed for that. That will be my last spa raffle. The entire time I was thinking of this thread as I had read it before leaving.....and I would share this when I got home.

went to one of the raffles since I had a few tickets, just to see what kind of prizes they were given out.

I over heard one of the crew that went up to a girl, gave her a ticket and told her to stick around, that he had a feeling she was going to win...well....guess what...she won!!....

that was the last one I will go to...tell me that wasn't fixed!!!

My sister and I went on a RC cruise together, just the 2 of us (No hubbys or kids). We made it our mission to go to every free give away event possible. We grabbed every raffle ticket we could get our hands on during embarkment, we showed up to the "shopping tutorial", all 3 of the art auctions, the free bracelet thing on Nassau, the spa tour, the bingo tour, the casino tour, the free wine and beer sampling, you get the picture.

We WON an autographed piece of art which I got authenticated when I got home (its worth $2300 today)

We got free (really crappy) bracelets, earnings, and necklaces at the Nassau shopping scavenger hunt. (cheep or not I still wear them and gave some away as gifts to my nieces.)

WON a 10k white gold omega necklace with a 2k Tanzanite stone (my favorite gem) appraised at $1700 when I got home

WON a bathrobe, and a towel

WON 3 a bottle of wine

WON a man's grooming kit.

Of course free champagne, free pocket mirrors, free charm bracelet, free show insoles, free smoothie, free wine and beer samples, free "entertainment" at the actutions... etc

OK please KNOW however my sister and I have cruised A LOT and we have done the shows, we have done the relax thing, all the typical cruise stuff, this time we spent nearly every moment doing some sort of "Let me try and sell you something" thing in order to get all this free stuff and prizes. There were many people at all of these events but we never saw the same person twice.

Usually the way that these things work, is you get the raffle ticket at one place and have to show up at a different time and place to see if you won the prize. (Thats how they get you, they make you sit through 2 sales pitches!! But we did not spend a DIME at any of these places) MANY people show up to one but not the other. IE since we showed up to literally EVERY SINGLE event we were nearly the only people with the right raffle ticket.

BUT again I must mention that we had no time or energy for ANYTHING else, we were sometimes RUNNING across the boat to get from one raffle thing to the next. And the Nassau charm bracelet is difficult to navigate AND get there early BUT not too early. Basically the lady has to hand out the free charms to all of the shops before you can go and get them. THEN the sales lady will have set times YOU WILL ONLY KNOW ABOUT if you went to her How To Shop at Nassau seminar on the first day of sailing. So right down those times, when you get to the shop for the special give aways show up on time, fill out their info sheet with you name and room number, AND DONT LEAVE. If you are not there or do not hear her she moves on QUICK. On our cruise she gave away a Tag Heuer watch, My omega necklace, 1ct diamond (real diamond) earrings and we didnt go to the last one because we weren't eligible to win after I won the necklace.

This took nearly 4 hours give or take. We took a quick lunch break at Senior Frogs which is great people watching because everyone there is stupid drunk, I mean like college spring break sort of drunk. We sat near the entrance over looking the water which was perfect NOT too loud and great view. BUT DO NOT DRINK THERE. WHATEVER YOU DO!!!! For the love all of things holy, they pour acohol directly into peoples mouths in a conga line, most drunkies put their lips around the spout, and then the servers pour that into the next person or even into table guest drinks. I even saw a server wipe off a spout with his arm pit and then serve a guest. What I am trying to say is if you want to get herpes, or hpv, or the Spanish flu, then sure drink away, but if not DO NOT DRINK at Senior Frogs.

Also the bathroom is filled with puke, no surprise, AND crazy enough the have a bathroom attendant that expects to get tipped just for you to wash your own hands. Which I did because she was a local just trying to feed her kids by being employed to have to sit in the yucky place all day.

BUT the food was excellent and the view towards the water was beautiful and the view inside the restaurant was funny as hell. And the gift shop was nice.

OH I forgot, we also got a 2 $20 gift certificates at the first day "How to Shop" show thing, for their stores ON the boat (only open on days out to sea) we checked it out and couldnt find anything we liked worth $20-$40. BUT then on the very last night of the cruise everything was clearance 70-90% off. We bought our husbands watches, ourselves T-shirts, the kids toy type knick nacks. And a commemorative RC glass. All for free. With our gift certs, we paid a TOTAL of $0.35 thats right after tax we paid thirty five CENTS on all of it total.

Worth it to us. May be not worth your time, but think about it. We got free food free time away from the kids and laundry and dishes and the hubbys and technically we made money. Technically the stuff we won for free was worth more than the cost of the cruise and we didnt have to do household chores. And the fed us.

I haven't won anything myself, but I've sat next to plenty of people who won bottles of wine, an upgrade to a suite, and even a full cruise. You have to be there to win, but often there's not much in the way of competition. Now why I can't win one of 4 prizes with only 10 people competing I'll never know.

I notice on Day 1 - RC do a lot of raffles and giveaways. Is it worth my time to pursue - has anyone won (bottle of champagne, jewelry, spa, etc.). I do have on list to do the free liquor tasting. Has anyone attended the free liquor tasting event before - thoughts please. Thanks in advance.

Wife won a facial at the spa, cost about $100 more for the additional massage she decided to get.

On the Oasis last May. My wife always goes to the spa raffle. I accompanied her this time, thinking she might not find her way back through the unfamiliar surroundings of Oasis!

We won a two-day promotional inauguration cruise on Harmony November 8 and 9. Gratuities (though we gave our steward extra), free drinks around the clock (no receipts or sea passes needed), free Johnny Rockets, and free Sabor. During a three hour stretch one day, free appetizers were available at the specialty restaurants and Dazzles. We each were given a very nice quality canvas collapsible carry-all small suitcase.

We were able to book all five shows and saw them all in the two nights.

It was a very good time. Didn't understand when we cruised on Grandeur two months later why they expected us to pay for drinks!

On my Allure cruise a few years ago my sister, her husband and 3 kids won a loft suite for the week playing Bingo. She had a standard balcony room and found her self sleeping day 2 through end of cruise in a Royal Loft Suite. Needless to say her family were ecstatic.

Congrats, but that isn't really free. She had to pay for her chance to win it.

Really no different than gambling

Cro won a $100 spa credit ... there were several $100 and $50 prizes given away at the spa tour on the first day.

On the positive side of things ... we were already planning to purchase a thermal spa pass and considering buying massages just depending on what the 'specials' and 'packages' were. So the $100 credit (off a $149 massage) was nice for us. And I thoroughly enjoyed my hot stone massage!

On the down side, the credit was only applicable to certain spay menu items (there was a decent selection) but if someone didn't want any of the available selection or didn't plan to spend any $$ in the spa at all to start with, then the $100 might have been of no use to them or only served to entice them to spend additional money they wouldn't have originally spent.

On another cruise line, there was a week-long scavenger hunt. My brother and one other kid were the only ones to show up at the event (everyone else gave up or forgot), and he won a ton of ship swag. On my RC Empress cruise in October, my friend "won" $100 toward acupuncture but then paid almost another $100, as it cost over $150, plus tip, etc. And I'm not really sure that acupuncture is a one and done kind of thing, I think it has to be ongoing to really benefit from it and she agreed afterward she wouldn't have done it on her own and she sat through a lot of upselling too. The take away is - it's not "won" if it costs you money! Oh, and we did win a bottle of the "champagne" at a trivia and it was absolutely horrible!

Yes, all the raffle events are listed in the Compass.
