SummerXU Posted April 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2016 My friend and I are leaving tomorrow and cruising on Wednesday. Long story short: She's recently divorced and changed her name back to her maiden name. Her driver's license and new passport are in her maiden name. She just realized on Friday that she can't locate the only credit card she had in her maiden name. The only other credit card she has is still in her married name which, of course, doesn't match her passport/ID. Will Carnival accept this card? She has her divorce decree stating the name change that she could bring. We've considered all of the other options (cash only S&S account, putting her on my account, etc) but we wanted to see if the card in her married name could possibly work. Thanks! dettlja Posted April 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2016 In 9 cruises, they have never asked me to see the credit card. I just put the info in at home as part of the online check in and I'm good to go.
Yellowbird75 Posted April 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2016 When I printed my cruise documents, there was new sheet that was basically permission to use a card that didn't match the name on the folio. Since she IS still that person, just under a different name, she could technically just sign that form, giving herself permission to use the card... Good luck! Rare sparks1093 Posted April 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Make sure you have a fallback. This, although it will probably work fine.
deborahjo Posted April 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Just bring the divorce decree just in case. Don't bring it up unless asked

Elaine5715 Posted April 13, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Carnival will run a $200 hold on the posted credit card the morning of your cruise. If it goes through, you should be fine.
cruisecraze96 Posted April 13, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Same here, have never been asked to show the credit card if I set up everything prior to leaving home. Now of course there is a first for everything :) so having the name change paperwork handy will help.
