Deck 7, 8 or 9 on Constellation?

I had started the thread seeking some reassurance that we'd take to Connie having only sailed S class ships to date. The many replies have reassured us, thank you very much. However, I did pick up that our 2B stateroom was smaller than the same grade on S class and compared to Connie Concierge. That's made me consider upgrading to Concierge.

From what I can see I could choose a stateroom on Decks 7, 8 or 9. I guess there pro's and con's with each deck. Can I have your thoughts, please? For instance, is Deck 9 affected by public spaces above it?

On M class ships Decks 7 and 8 are between 2 passenger decks. Avoid deck 9 under the pool area or the buffet. Deck 9 forward is okay. Deck 6 is okay if you are above low traffic areas. Avoid any cabin above the casino or bar. I was in a deck 6 cabin above a bar with music. Music kept us up until midnight. When picking a cabin look at the entire ship deck plan to see what is over and under your cabin. Unless you like the people in the adjoining cabin, don't book a connecting cabin. You can hear everything. Check the sticky cabin comments.

Personally, Deck 7 or 8 because of having cabins both above and below. CC cabin are slightly larger on M class ships and if at all possible, I'd go for an aft cabin (C1 or FV) :). Sailing in or out of Venice in an aft cabin will be stunning (same goes for Kotor - a wonderful surprise if you haven't previously visited) ;).

We like deck 7 the most for the M class ships. Deck 8 is mostly Concierge. Deck 9 is largely Aqua. Deck 6 has activities below. We had a Deck 9 cabin once, when we were upgraded to Aqua. The pool deck was above us and there were times we heard the movement of deck chairs above.

We have been on the Connie several times.

We like deck 7 as you have cabins above and

below you. We have been lucky and were

always able to get a F.V. and they are on

the aft. end of the ship. We have also been on

deck 9 but our choice would be deck 7:):)

I was in 7045, just a few doors from the forward elevators. No noise problem from elevators, excellent access, unobstructed view from cabin. easy access from midhsip elevators as well.

Just stayed in 8071 during our constellation transatlantic April 2 and it was just wonderful. It is between passenger decks and halfway between elevators. Very quiet and stable. It is a concierge balcony.

Hi there, may I ask which sailing you are on and if you have managed to confirm a cost to upgrade, only we are in a 2B on our sailing and considered upgrading to a Concierge however when we enquired we were advised the difference of the cost was 3 times the difference between the two grades from when we first booked making it just under £700.00 and we would lose our drinks package which was a promotion, needless to say we disappointingly declined to up grade [emoji853]

We're on the sailing out of Barcalona 31st July 2017. We booked this in a 2B room while on Reflection 3 weeks ago. We also got free drinks and $300 OBC thrown in. When I started to think about going up to a C3 grade I entered a "trial" booking on the X website and got a price £266 more than our 2B booking. Having decided to go for it I phoned X in Weybridge (on the UK number) and they initially told me the upgrade would be some £480 or so. When I questioned this, and advised I had done the trial booking and the price differential was less, they had another look and hey presto did it for £266!! I also retained my free drinks and OBC. If I hadn't retained those I wouldn't dream of moving!!

I think they were saying the first price offered included another booking fee and also referred to the dollar exchange rate. Either way these seemed feeble excuses to me. You need to keep your eye on these people!!
