Boardwalk Balcony Cabin - Oasis of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Hey, everyone!

I booked a Central Park Balcony guarantee for our upcoming December trip. I logged in this morning and we've already been assigned a room! Though we were given a Boardwalk Balcony room. Anyone traveled in one of these rooms? Just curious what people think!

Thanks!

We Love the Boardwalk Balconies!!! We have been on both the Allure and Oasis before and in 2 weeks going on b2b on the Allure and have always booked them. I try to get as near to the end as possible so as to have a Great View of the Ocean, Show and overlook the Boardwalk as well.....The Best of all Worlds!! Mark

We are on Oasis now and the Boardwalk balconies, especially aft will have a view of the water and the Aqua show. Having the aft of the ship open to the sea makes the Boardwalk feel more spacious than Central Park. Also, because there is no roof over Boardwalk lots of light gets in. You will love it.

We have been in boardwalk balconies many times and central park balcony once. The lower decks of CP are quite and the upper maybe not due to noise from the pools above.

The BW cabins are great and we love them. Some will say it is noisy but we never found it an issue. I suppose if you went to bed at 10 every night and napped a lot it could be but even still with the balcony door shut you would hear very little if it is loud outside. I would say deck 10 or higher at least middle to the back gives you a nice view of the ocean but also you can enjoy all the sights and sounds of the boardwalk. Near the back you can enjoy watching a show from your balcony (although not quite as good as being down there in seats) and during the day enjoy watching the performers practice dives or trampoline tricks. We loved this aspect of it. It is a longer walk to the elevators from the back but we didn't care and needed that exercise to work off the food and drinks. We found the CP to be quite boring and no ocean view but we were closer to the elevators so that was a benefit. With both balconies people can see you from across, below, or above while you are on your balcony but we don't care at all about that.

By the way, once they assign you your cabin you can switch within the exact same category (there are two categories for BW balconies) so if you see BW location you like better you can switch.

So that is my two cents.

I loved our BW balcony on the Oasis I will probably not book ocean view again.

It reminded me of the movie Rear Window you can people watch and early morning you hear the tinkling of the dishes of people eating breakfast on their balconies. I loved it and no noise at all but for one night but the music stopped about 11 so no problem.

Of course...the pools are above CP rooms. That explains why we would hear noise / splashing when walking to Park Cafe. :D

We didn't have one but the Boardwalk rooms with balconies look like so much fun.

I had a boardwalk on the Oasis and Central Park on the Allure.

LOVED both. Near everything!!!!

Keep in mind, there is a wall that separates the action and noise, so you will have no issue at all.

Oops...I messed up. We had a boardwalk OCEANVIEW balcony. Sorry....hence the statement "there is a wall separating the boardwalk". Sorry. Still.....I think you will love it. :):):) BEST SHIP IN THE WORLD.

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited now! Is it normal to get a room assignment so far out?

There's no "normal". Rooms can be assigned anytime from the time the stateroom is booked until the day of the cruise.

We're booked in a Boardwalk Balcony on Oasis in December as well. We booked the last cabin 10729 to take the best advantage of the ocean and aqua theatre views. We like that there is some fun aspects to a room with a reasonable price.

We were also very pleased to learn about the recent addition of the Boardwalk balcony perks that start in November:

The new EAT • DRINK • PLAY complimentary amenities offer guests in Boardwalk balcony staterooms

Complimentary meal for four at Johnny Rockets.

Complimentary Royal Refreshment soda package for two guests.

Exclusive rock climbing wall experience for the entire family.

That is great to hear that everyone seems to really love the Boardwalk Balcony staterooms. We just booked 10727 last night - 2nd from the last aft BB room. Only problem ..... the cruise is still 2 years off. :( But we have Liberty out of Galveston between now and then. :p

Was this on select sailings? Or all Oasis sailings? I'm not aware of this. Do I have to ask for it?

I saw the Eat Drink Play thing! It says that the promotion starts on all cruises after November 4th or 6th or something. The rep I spoke to said it should become a permanent promotion. I think Central Park rooms get something as well. Like a bottle of wine and casino gaming lessons. I was so excited I called my boyfriend at work. He doesn't get it  He said oh that's great. Do I have another 8 months of cruise planning to look forward to? Thank goodness for the boards!

It was announced in January for Oasis class Boardwalk and Central Park balconies for sailings beginning November 2016. (Central Park has slightly different perks). From what I understand every cabin gets the perks starting in November regardless of booking (based on info on the website and threads here).

This is the first I've heard of this! We have a Boardwalk Balcony booked for 2017. Very nice perk if it's still going on during our cruise.

We have Boardwalk 11329 on Dec. 18 cruise. EAT - DRINK - PLAY great for families or young adults. We are super seniors we will get meals for two, neither of us have use for a soda package would love water or beer, and we are way, way to old for rock climb wall. Would have enjoyed the Central Park bottle of wine and dinner for two at Giovanni's much more. Don't go to casino on Royal because of smoking being permitted so no gaming lessons. We will enjoy Johnny Rockets meals for two.

Snit13 we are on the December 18th sailing as well!

Is the cabin they assigned you closer to the aquatheather, or closer to the elevators/midship? If you are not close to the aquatheater, you can ask for a different cabin in the same category... So, if you are assigned a B1, you can switch for any available B1.

We had an oceanview balcony guarantee, and also got it assigned pretty fast. We did not like the location, and easily switched to a great location. I learned that we could do that here on CC.:)
