Athem of the Seas help please

Recommended Posts

We will be sailing next week and there are just a few things I have questions about so if anyone can help me that would be awesome.

First I am a little confused about the new dinning and how it works.

How do we know from day to day which dinning room we belong in? Do they issue a schedule for you daily?:confused:

Also I read there is no more formal night? Are any of the dining options formal? Sometimes its just fun to dress up.

I also heard that we are no longer allowed to get hot food through room service, that is very upsetting to me as this will be our very first balcony cabin for our 25Th wedding anniversary and we were very much looking forward to enjoying a few meals on our balcony.:(

I am also curious, the in room fridge with alcohol, if we have the drink package are we allowed to drink what's in their without charge I would have thought yes but I figured it was a better idea to ask rather then assume as the saying goes, ya know.:p

I'm sure I will think of more as the days come closer to departure but this will have to do for now.

Thanks

Are you in Classic 1 or 2?

You will have a notice in your cabin like this:

Anthem%20Dynamic%20Classic%201%20dining%20schedule_zpsiqsshclv.jpg

There are no formal nights. The Grande Restaurant is supposedly "formal" any night that you go there. It just means "don't be a slob; men should wear a jacket".

Room service has lots of hot food options. But the Anthem charges for most of them. I have the room service menus and will post a link shortly.

Minibar is NEVER NEVER NEVER included in your drink package.

If you are in Dynamic Classic dining, you will have a schedule of daily dining venues in your stateroom when you arrive. The Grande restaurant is formal every night, though they do relax the dress suggestion on the first and last night.

Wow, they are even doing the 5:30pm thing out of Bayonne? What's going on with this company.

Since Anthem arrived last year, "early seating" has been at 5:30, even though everyone had been told "6:00". And second is still 8:30! odd, to say the least.

Just figured I would add my query to this anthem thread as opposed to creating a whole new post (sorry if this is hi-jacking your post). I am also going to be on the anthem next month and just wanted to know what are your favorite watering holes (Bar) on the anthem and why? I have never been on this ship and I figure having people give their opinion might save me some time in narrowing down my options.

We both like Vintages, I enjoy their Sangria and DH enjoys a much better selection of wines at Vintages.

Vintages is very nice, with a great selection, but we loved Michael's pub for the beer selection and food. Bionic Bar was great fun, and actually made a mean drink! Enjoy your cruise- I really loved that ship.

Hi....we loved the Music Hall, the silent disco was very different but funny.

Boleros was also fun with great music.

Anthem is a fantastic ship with a great choice of numerous watering holes, I'm sure that you will have no problem finding your favourite.

Enjoy your cruise ..... we loved ours.

With the 'premium drink package, for mixed drinks:

The 270 bartenders (for my visits) didn't use shot measuring; they poured. I discussed if I could get a 2-1 or 3-1 Vodka Kahlua and got it. At most other bars, I had to order a double Vodka on the rocks, wait a bit, and then order a black russian and 'combine them in a large glass. Only had one of these a day, but a PITA with limitations of the premium package rules.

The Bionic Bar made exactly what I wanted, stored it in "my drinks" and was hands down #2 to 270.

With the 'premium drink package, for wines:

Hands down, Vintages. They had an excellent red Amarone (ran out during the cruise), Merlot options, whites and blends. We found Vintages to be the best secret for relaxing before or after dinner, underutilized. Has some fee based food apps options also; just OK. Really could use a 'cheese board/spread. Also, prior to a show, if you want a goblet of wine, they would give it to you and simply run the glass 2-3 times on the package. Other bars said the 'system wouldn't let them do it; a time wait was built in. Didn't go back to them.

Hands down, Jamies and Chops for 'after dinner "tawny" port wine (a "digestive" that really settles the process and is good for 'motion stomach issues from some in our party). Nobody else could get it for us; Jamies did, Chops didn't and we told Manager Jamies did (he sent someone down to storage and got a bottle and put it on our table).

I definitely won't stop until I find one. definitely planning to stop by the music hall. My mother is on this cruise and she has access to one of the lounges. and from what I hear the lounge that she frequents has an overflow that lets out into the music hall. so i will definitely will stop by there a couple of times at least. I have done the silent disco on a few other royal cruises I have been on. it is pretty funny to see people dancing and trying to guess what kind of music they are dancing to.

I like free pour venues !270 sounds like a winner to me. from the few responses i have received vintages sounds like a nice low key spot. definitely will spend a few hours of down time in there. A glass of wine and a book (assuming there is no one in there to chat with) and I will be set.

In order to get this after dinner wine you are speaking of, do I need to first eat in any of the establishments or can I just go in there and ask for a glass of wine?

Thank you for all of the sugesstions i really appreciate it.

My post was totally high jacked lmao. luckily I too was interested to know about the cool bars so its all good:p

I wanted to see if there is a limit to the amount of bags and luggage we are allowed to bring on board?

And my hubby is a huge Islander fan, does anyone know if he will be able to see the games on board? Who knew they would go this far!

Bring everything...............including the kitchen sink! No one cares.

The games will be on somewhere. Possibly in your cabin, possibly on the big outdoor screen at the pool. If there is a championship game (I have no idea about the schedule), they may show it in the Music Hall.

Sounds good thanks

Onto another question. Does anyone have or know what the nightly entertainment schedule looks like on Anthem?

We would like to plan out a day to day to do list so everyone in our party knows what the plan is for the day/night.

And I read somewhere that RCC did away with the DD for the Anthem.

Is that true and if so what does that mean for us as far as dinning times and locations?
