Thanks for your kind offer to answer questions.

In the main dining room does Infinity still have traditional dining on deck 4 and Select dining on deck 5, or have they switched them?

yes main dining in the Trellis on Deck 4, Select on deck 5.

Thanks Tee Rick for this thread. We got upgraded to a CS on Connie next month, and your comments so far have been very reassuring. We don't expect an M-class ship to be brand new -- "patina" is a good word for a classy lady like this! The only negative I have heard about the CS suites is noise in the bedroom from the adjacent public corridor -- has this been a problem for you?

Jazz - there is no noise at all. Believe me my wife would notice! On Infinity we are on deck 8 right across from the library. It is always quiet. Of particular interest is when we got into our cabin yesterday we had a brand new sofa in there! We actually thought we were in the wrong cabin for a minute. The CS next door got a new table & chairs. Thanks Celebrity. Our butler told us that Celebrity is upgrading some of the older furniture in the CS cabins on Infinity on this cruise.

We are considering this ship and itinerary. Do you know when the last dry dock was? Thanks for all the info!

I think it was just a few months ago. Both RS and PH suites were updated. Terrace on 12 was installed. SS United States restaurant was switched to Tuscan Grill.

Hi, we have a Mac Air with Safari. Do you know if the ship's (Infinity) wifi operates with Safari? We are travelling to Alaska in June.

The iLounge on deck 9 is full of Apple terminals. I am using one right now. Safari or google - no issues.

We are buffet people, wondering about the food. We are elite on Princess and eat their buffet every meal, satisfied with it, I'm sure we will be on Infinity. Read where they have stations that sound interesting instead of just one big line. Thanks so much,

I am not the 0P but this is what I wrote a few years ago about my one and only Celebrity cruise on the Century when I compared it to my most recent Princess cruise on the Sapphire...

:) Hands-down the winner would be the Century. Their buffet had a really large variety of foods. They had a pasta station where you would take a bowl and fill it with your choice of items that you would like in your pasta. My choice was mushrooms and chicken. It was then sautéed, tossed with pasta and then topped with my choice of sauce. There were four or five different sauces to choose from. Very tasty.

Their salad bar in the buffet was fabulous! It was a small version of soup plantation. There were so many toppings to choose from. They even had blue cheese crumbles! And I think I counted 10 different dressings.

In addition to the usual omelette/egg station, the Century also has an Eggs Benedict station with four or five different choices available. :)

Of course I don't know if all of the Celebrity ships are like this but maybe a frequent Celebrity cruiser may let us know.

Thanks TeeRick. We will be on the Infinity for our Panama Cruise (San Diego to Fort Lauderdale) a year from now. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your cruise on the Infinity. How's Café Al Baggio?

There has been no smoking in the Oceanview Bar aft on deck 10. No smoking in the casino. The only smoking area on the ship is on one side corner on the pool deck and a small area on deck 4 outside.

Great - thanks for the information. Have a great cruise

Thank you so much for doing this. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. We are sailing on this ship in September (Last cruise to Alaska for the season) with my in-laws. My Father in Law is a burger man. Loves his Hamburgers. Have you experienced them? Is there a burger station? I know you have the beverage package but have you noticed the price of Coors Lite and the frozen drinks or drinks of the day?

Thanks you again and have a wonderful day!:)

I asked a few pages ago and you may not know, but which bistro 5 menu is on infinity this season?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

It is the newer menu that was introduced within the past year. I was told that Bistro on 5 will be changed to a sushi restaurant but they don't know the timing yet.

thanks for your offer to answer questions. hope you can help me with this one.

i'm booked on the infinity in cabin 1130. this is an aft cabin on the end. i'm thrilled to have finally gotten an aft cabin, but besides the good things about it, i've also heard some negative things about it. they say that there are stairs from deck 11 to deck 12 and people walking up or down the stairs look right into the balcony. is this true? can you check it out for me please? is there an unobstructed view from the balcony? is there a lot of noise from the oceanview bar below?

thanks in advance.

Yes there is a small stairway on the aft port side that connects deck 10 Oceanview bar area to the new deck 12 Terrace. Midway up, on the stairway landing at deck 11, you can see part of the balcony I think of 1130 so not entirely private. From this landing there is a door where you get access to the deck 11 aft cabin area. The deck 11 aft cabins overlook the deck 10 oceanview bar area but there appears to be some sort of canopy covering it from direct view down. I hope that helps.

There are decent burgers and hot dogs by the pool every day. If you are in a suite and can dine in Luminae, you will find one of the best burgers at sea (IMO) on the lunch menu. Most domestic beers are $5-6. Frozen drink specials are a bit more or sometimes specials like two-for-one.

Tee Rick - have you taken any excursions yet? We are scheduled in a CS on an upcoming cruise. THanks for taking the time to answer all these questions.

We toured Cartagena Columbia with a private tour. We also used a private tour to see both the old and new canal locks in Colon, Panama. Both places were hot as blazes and very humid. Fortunately not much rain so far. Tomorrow we will be in Costa Rica.

Thanks for all the posting and sharing about your cruise and the Infinity. Please share info for your private tour in Cartegena, if you recommend the tour operator. Did you visit a store to purchase an emerald? We are interested in possibly purchasing an emerald in Cartegena. Thanks for the info.

not on the cruise now, but we've been to Cartegena twice and used Lee Miles (Mr Emerald) for our tours which were excellent. He also has a nice store with reasonable prices and yes, we bought some emerald earrings, shopped around and the price we paid for the quality was fair.

Have there been any of the from the podium lectures on board?

Yes the lectures on board have been really well done and extremely well attended with knowledgable lecturers. There have been several each day on various itinerary-related topics. The ones that were Panama Canal specific were particularly good but we have had others on S. American and C. American culture as well.

Great to see the updates[emoji3] could someone please advise what are private tours and are these not the ones you book through the cruise? Having only previously cruised around the South Pacific Islands, we have always been told not to book private tours. Sorry to sound ignorant, and enjoy the rest of your cruise[emoji322]
