FLL Embassy Suites Cruise Package?

Can anyone offer advice as to whether getting the "cruise package" is worth the extra $45? From what I'm reading here, it looks as though we might be better off to just arrange for own taxis. We are 2 couples traveling next April.

Is that $45 per room? Not really worth it as you would spend a combined less than that for a van taxi from the airport and to the port, which would carry all 4 of you and luggage easily. If you go with their package, you will be waiting for the shuttle at the airport, and will be on their schedule to go to the port, and maybe yours is the last ship they stop at.

Generally I agree with DanJ, but as we don't know specifically whats in the package, hard to say....

 

If it is transport from the airport to hotel, and from hotel to airport, doing it on your own is much cheaper, as discussed here daily. Taxi from airport to hotel is less than $15, (for the taxi)before tip. Shuttle is $8pp to port. Taxi is $10-14 for the taxi, to the port.

 

Does the package include anything else?

Thank you for your responses. Yes, the $45 was per room, so a total of $90 dollars extra for both couples combined. And what was included was transportation from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the cruise port.

This is not necessary...you'll do better taking a taxi for your transportation needs...Cheaper, quicker and on your timetable.

I agree with all of the above, taxis are usually lined up, whereas as the van takes 10/20 minutes to arrive.

The other advantage is that if you need to park your car during cruise, they only charge $7.00 per day with the cruise package. I not, I would just take a taxi.

Agree. The airport and 17th St hotels are very close by. Don't bother with the package. Too there are van taxis that will hold all four of you for the same rate as a sedan. Another savings.

The taxi will run the four of you around $20.00 each way.

Thank you all so much. I booked the rooms without the package. Now I just have to wait another year (almost) to use them!
