cruiseguy1016 Posted May 1, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) I can't say I have since I've never been on a cruise before. The vibration if any will probably be good to put my 1year old asleep lol I don't think I'll mind it. I'm more concerned knowing the windjammer is right above us. I'm sure there will be noice from that? The vibration is hard to describe. It's not a slow, pulsing vibration like you'd feel from, say, a jackhammer. It's more of a very rapid hum like you'd feel from an electric razor. Edited May 1, 2016 by cruiseguy1016
sandancer Posted May 1, 2016 #27 Share Posted May 1, 2016 I have always wanted to try one. We will have our first next year on RC Radiance OTS and then again in 2018 on Celebrity Eclipse. I hope I like them. :D Just had our first aft on the Eclipse. We are totally hooked. We always have a balcony cabin but have never used it as much as we did this time. peck Posted May 1, 2016 #30 Share Posted May 1, 2016 I am a happy member of the corner aft "cult". To me, the location provides the best of two worlds. 1) My own private cruise ship where I can relax on my lounger, enjoy the wake, the sunrises/sunsets, the ports fading into the distance. 2) Upon leaving my corner cocoon, a regular cruise ship full of pools, shows, casinos, food I didn't cook and fun ports of call. Hi Vicki, I have booked a corner aft on Navigator on deck, I think it is 9360 but maybe wrong. What is this cabin like or similar ones on Navigator. Thanks Bill
vickiw0318 Posted May 1, 2016 #31 Share Posted May 1, 2016 9390? It is a pie shaped balcony with room for a lounger, 2 chairs and a table. Since it is on the corner, the view is not as obstructed by the superstructure on the back of the ship. It is pretty open to the elements - not covered like the corners on decks 7 and 10. The cabin is a bit different from the others because it has a giant round window (large enough to sit in and I have) and just a regular door that accesses the balcony. This gives the cabin a cozy feel. I booked it for my son and his girlfriend as a combo happy 30th birthday present/farewell to her present. (She was going back to France soon after she'd completed a one year internship.) Thought they would want some place to cuddle up together. I myself have had its equivalent on the Liberty and have it booked on an upcoming Freedom transatlantic.

1ParticularHbr Posted May 1, 2016 #33 Share Posted May 1, 2016 We had our first aft on the Jewel. The balcony is large but it was Hot Hot Hot! We were in the center 7180. Never again. No air flow at all. Also the room and the bed vibrated all night from the engines. We tried it and now going back to our regular balcony. Interesting. We had a center aft on deck 9 on Jewel and felt no vibration. I guess higher decks are the way to go.
