Transportation Mia to Fll

What time are your flights? If arriving later than first thing in the morning on embarkation day it may be best to just book the cruise line transfer as they will monitor your flight and wait as long as reasonably possible if delayed. There are a lot fewer shared shuttles and car services authorized to pick up or drop off at MIA than there are at FLL. If there's more than two of you a taxi would come to a little less than $90 each way. Same issue when disembarking; if you flight is within the cruise line transfer window booking their transfer will make sure you are off the ship in time, else you may have to do self-carry walk off and jump in a cab depending on how early your flight is (as you are looking at close to an hour drive each way rather than the 15-20 minutes you originally were).

We flew into MIA this past March for our cruise out of FLL and used Larry's Limos as our transfer. We paid extra on our arrival for in-airport meet and greet ($7 extra) primarily because this was our first flight into MIA and we didn't want to have to worry about finding a meeting location.

We paid about $100 for the meet and drive to FLL and then $87 for the return to MIA.

Both drivers were prompt and courteous. Cars were new/late model and while we booked a sedan we were upgraded both ways to an SUV.

When we found out that a cab would be $80-85 each way, we realized that using Larry's would cost nearly the same and with less hassle. We would definitely use them again.

Thanks all. Ship transfer is $30 each seems to be cheapest. Arrive in at 11:30 on departure day. However return flight is also 11:30 and cannot take ship transfer too early. We will do walk off bags but will research options.

You need to make an 11:30 am flight out of MIA when disembarking from Port Everglades? There is a reason that the cruise line won't allow you to do a ship transfer - they don't want to be blamed if you miss the flight.

You need to be at MIA no later than 10 am (and that would make me nervous) and the drive from Port Everglades is about 45 minutes on a good day. There are very few good days when it comes to south Florida traffic. You should be off the ship well before 9 am (I would say ask for an 8 am or earlier disembarkation).

Good luck - this flight plan would make me very nervous since I recommend 11 (at the very earliest) - 11:30 flights when disembarking Port Everglades and flying out of Fort Lauderdale.

Yes we will carry off hopefully around 7-8. That's the time we have been getting off normally. The issue was we had a different cruise out of Mia and NCL canceled it due to a charter but our flights were booked. Couldn't change air without costing $2200! Had to find a cruise that would work with these original cruise dates and this was only option. RCCL said it should be fine. If we miss it then guess will just deal with rebooking. So rather fly FLL and cheaper but it is what it is now.
