Hand Held Steamer Allowed?

Hi All,

 

Is a small hand held clothes steamer allowed on board? Does anyone have any experience with this? Any information appreciated.

No, they are considered a fire hazard. Downy Wrinkle Release is a spray that does a good job.

Problem with the steamers evidently is no automatic shut off.

You can also hang clothes in the bathroom when you shower too, the steam will help with wrinkles too.

We always bring Joy Mangano's mini hand-held steamer for just in case. We pack it in our check-in luggage & never had a problem.

We have brought ours on Freedom without any issues. It's very small and square/rectangular in shape.

They allow hair straighteners though, right?

 

You can use them to get wrinkles out of some clothes but you need to be really careful. Start at the lowest heat setting and test on an inconspicuous spot first.

 

My old hair iron has a steam function .....

Not a huge risk, all they will do is take it away, hold it, and give it back at the end of the cruise.
