Can 4 adult women share a cabin for 5 days on the Triumph Aug 29? Any tips?

Recommended Posts

I have shared both a balcony & an oceanview several times with 4 women. Yes it is tight but doable. We put the luggage under the beds. We each bring hangers from to hang our elegant night outfits, we each get a shelf in the closet and each get 1 drawer, there is also 2 drawers in the bottom of the couch, a cabinet on the side with two shelves and also each of the night stands can hold stuff. Earplugs are a must!!! If it is a sea day we are usually at the pool or Serinity area non sea days we get off the ship to explore. We each normally get up at different times so we schedule our bathroom time.

We do it because I usually get a free cruise via Casinos at Sea or one of the land casinos and we all are cruiseholics since we retired.

It could be fun...as others said it will take careful planning. Take an over the door hanger for makeup, etc. Plan to use the gym showers to get ready (unless as someone else said you are all on different showering schedules!) One issue I had when sharing an interior with two 20 year olds (one boy, one girl) was that one of them would use the bathroom FOREVER in the AM (you know why and you can probably guess who! WHY do men do that??) and it seemed like I would have to get up and get dressed to find a bathroom to use. Earplugs are also a good idea!

We've done it. A couple pointers:

Discuss things ahead of time and set expectations. Things like keeping the cabin tidy, putting dirty laundry in your suitcase under the bed, quiet times...

We are all "low maintenance", so that helps.

Plan to use take turns using spa showers and your own.

Pack light. No need for 5 pairs shoes or 20 outfits. Discuss things you can share (only one person bring hair dryer...).

We drive together to port anyway, so have to limit our luggage to a small suitcase and backpack.

Discuss the bed situation ahead of time. We don't like changing around, so we each just pick what we'll have for the week. I will take a trundle or couch over Pullman, so will give up a 'bed' for one of those.

Talk about electrical outlet and charging needs. We have to account for charging camera batteries and tablets, flat iron and hair dryer.

Tips:

Showers - You can usually take a nicer shower in the fitness center instead of sharing that one "RV" sized dinky shower in that room.

Earplugs - someone is gonna make some noise and you need to get a little sleep!

Packing cubes - makes packing easier in a smaller size suitcase & nothing gets wrinkled because it doesn't move. Each person can have a different color and keep things like undies/night clothing in them in the draweres or closet and easily identify your stuff. I get mine at amazon for about $20 for 3.

Outlets: you'll definitely need a power strip to charge 4 people's electronics

Have fun!

HELL NO. If saving money is the goal, then book 2 inside cabins. Trust me on this one. It really will help preserve the friendships and enhance your experience. 4 women sharing the tiny bathroom sounds like a disaster in the making to me. Even couples traveling together have a cruise routine and are already used to sharing a bath at home. Plus I"m not sure if anyone mentioned this, but the stateroom only has 1 plug and all those hair implements need to be hot. 4 guys could maybe do it, especially if utilizing the showers in the gym, but I don't think it's a workable idea for 4 ladies. Good luck either way...but try to get 2 cabins. I'd take 2 insides vs 4 in any normal (non-suite) cabin any day.

I've done it, in an inside😀 you have to be real friendly and considerate, not taking ages in the bathroom, etc.

Also agree to spend time apart if needed. You don't have to do everything together, when you occupy such a confined space, tensions can build and alone time can be a relief

If can swing extra money I would upgrade to balcony. Just makes room seem alot larger. And gives 2 more places to sit and view is spectacular.

However a Balcony Cabin is actually smaller than an Oceanview. The Balconies are 185 sq ft plus a 30 sq ft balcony. the Oceanviews are 210 sq ft. (185+30=210) But if possible on the Conquest series ships, there are Oceanview cabins on the back corners that average about 240 square feet (Cabin 2470etc) Get one of those with 4 adult women.

Sure! 3 of my friends and I did that back in February. We did anytime dining so getting ready wasn't rushed. It also helped that 2 in the group are higher maintenance (curling iron, straightener, hair dryer, etc.) and the other 2 are lower maintenance. We also found that if we were all needing showers, 2 of them went to the spa or fitness center to take them there. It can be done, reminded me of college days. Fun times!

Be careful what you ask for, do you really want to know what's going on in there????? LOL

You folks all sound much better at sharing than I'd like to be! Just imagine sharing your bedroom with 3 of your best friends for a week!

I would have fun doing it for one night like at an old fashioned slumber party but not for a week on a cruise!!

I wish you all good luck!

I agree with you. When we went to Alaska 4 women shared a balcony room, nobody wanted to sleep in the bunk so the 2 youngest shared a bed. I couldn't imagine anything worse.

Hope it works out well.
