Grand & Carribean Princess Questions

I've been on the Grand before & am considering a cruise on the Carribean Princess. Other that no skywalkers on the Grand is the layout simular? If you've been on both please share your views and what you thought of each ship. I'm considering a inside stateroom on deck 15 that's on the same floor of the buffet.

Thanks!

The Caribbean Princess has an additional deck of staterooms, so public areas may seem more crowded. Also, the CB does not have a covered pool. We were on her for our first Princess cruise in January, and had a wonderful trip.

Thanks! Have you been on the Grand & if so what did you notice? Anything other than an additional deck of staterooms & no covered pool?

Caribbean has larger cabin closets, a full 6' long. The Grand has the Vista Lounge, while the Caribbean as Club Fusion (not a show lounge). The Caribbean's buffet area is larger with the Cafe Caribe area. There are full center stairs on the Caribbean.

I've been on both and they were very similar to me. I think you would have a nice time on either. I'd give an edge to Grand. I really like the indoor pool area and I've sailed her more recently so, I guess she sticks more in my mind. I did have a good time on Caribbean Princess. I'd go with either.

The last time we were on the Grand, we had a window cabin on Lido deck. Very nice place to be. The Grand has a few cabins on Lido that have floor to ceiling windows. We had one of those, and I liked it very much. High up in the ship, so throw open the curtains and enjoy the great view.

Thanks! I noticed both the buffet & the Cafe Caribe. What is the deference between the two & I assume there is no charge to Cafe Carbie?

Thanks again!

No charge for Café Caribe, it is an additional buffet area, which may not be open all the time, and tends to have themed menus when open. Also, it is more like a stay-in-line kind of situation that the Horizon Court. Both might be open at the same time.....just a way to be able to serve more people when there is likely to be heavy demand.

We love that the CB still has Skywalker's, really miss that on Grand. CB does not have Alfredo's and we miss that when on the CB. Also the Casino on CB is on Deck 7, while on the Grand it is on Deck 6. But if you know the layout of the Grand you will have no trouble with the CB. It was the first of the "super grand" class, and the basically just added another deck of cabins without making much of change to the interior layout.

I agree about being crowded especially if the weather is cool. Just did a transatlantic. Staff did bring down tables for 2 from the buffet to put in the Atrium but still no place to sit. We still enjoyed our trip on the Caribbean.
