Julma Posted June 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Deciding between these two hotels for our 3 day, late July pre-cruise stay in Seattle. Inn at the Market is a bit more expensive. Never been to Seattle as tourists, so we will be doing all the basic tourist things during the day. Low key evenings, dinner and drinks. Any advice would be appreciated. Rare Gardyloo Posted June 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Both are great places. The Inn at the Market has both water-view and "city-side" rooms; the ones facing east (to the city) tend to be noisier than those facing west. The Inn is obviously right in (well, technically half a block uphill from) the market so it's surrounded by restaurants etc., also by many many thousands of people during the day. The Andra is located a bit closer to the commercial core, monorail, light rail tunnel etc., and its in-house restaurant, Lola, is very good. (It's one of local chef-celebrity Tom Douglas' places.) Either one would be great, but for a little experiment have a look at the Mayflower Park - http://www.mayflowerpark.com/ - which is even more conveniently located than the Andra, and which sometimes can be a bit cheaper with no reduction in quality at all - maybe a bit nicer, in fact. VibeGuy Posted June 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2016 All three are excellent properties - I love the scale and personal service of the Inn at the Market.
Northern Aurora Posted June 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We've stayed at the Mayflower Park several times and it is my current favorite Seattle hotel. Excellent breakfasts at the in-house restaurant, great staff and perfect location. We book their larger deluxe rooms and have been impressed with the size. Julma Posted June 17, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Seems many agree with you, Mayflower is sold out for my dates (and many others). I'll keep checking for cancellations.
BigGuy25 Posted June 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) Inn at the Market is fabulous. Were there last summer in a top floor room with private balcony overlooking market and harbor. Went to the market and brought back a bunch of wine and appetizers and enjoyed the sunset and balcony for hours. Pricy ... but Beautiful!!! need2cruisesoon Posted June 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 20, 2016 My son and I stayed at the Andra pre cruise earlier this month. Very nice hotel and walking distance to the Pikes Market. Would recommend.
MsBST2 Posted January 16, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2017 We stayed at Edgewater for a NCL Alaska cruise. LOVED it! walked to pier. This time we are staying at the Inn at the Market because we are going Carnival so no walking to pier.
