I will be going on my 7th (?) NCL cruise in 7 weeks with 5 being a suite with free breakfast and lunch everyday at Cagney's for free. With all the changes with the pay resturants and what you get-yes I did get a free 4 dinners with my reservations I was wondering if Cagney's still have the free breakfast and lunch, I loved having a steak for breakfast for lunch and am looking toward them but have not seen any talk about this pro or con Thank You Sam

MAMATAMA WROTE: HI,I am also traveling in a suit and look forward to breakfast at Cagneys….Do we know what restaurant is now for the suits?

No need to wear a suit. Just go casual.

lmao I think they meant Suite not Suit. Unless you were just being funny bahahahaha

As far as steak for lunch, depends if they are using the new or old menu. The new Cagney's lunch menu has no steak. They changed it to more seafood type offerings, a double thick pork chop, they vastly improved the roast beef sandwich, burger is now a brie burger (very good), and modified desserts slightly. If you do a search you can find the new vs. old menu.

Not sure where the Gem is on menus though. Steak still there for breakfast.

You did not specify which ship - that makes a difference. On ships without a haven restaurant, suite breakfast & lunch is served in Cagney's or one of the other specialty restaurants.

Ships with a Haven restaurant for the suite guests serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Haven restaurant.

Just want to thank you all for your input on Cagney's. Yes I am sailing the Gem again but this time with my bride of 12 weeks and she has never been on a NCL ship so I want to make it special for her. I enjoy all the meals at Cagney's and try to eat most of my breakfasts and lunches there and of course 2-3 dinners there also. Will have to wait and see what the changes there are in the meals since I usually have a steak for all 3 meals since I enjoy them.

If any of you are going July 30th hope to see you on board and if you are not maybe someday we will meet since I am retired and do not have much to do during the day other than plan my next trip

Sam

Suggestion: mention to the maitre 'd that you're disappointed the steak is no longer offered and just maybe they will find one for you. If you're eating en suite, ask the butler if it's available. You just might get lucky :-)

The pork chop looks amazing! DH will be very sad about no steak for lunch. Maybe he'll still live if he can have steak and eggs for breakfast.

If you're in a suite, there will be a letter in your cabin about where you can dine for breakfast and lunch. Plus, if you board early enough at embarkation you will be escorted to that venue for lunch anyway.

We ordered the pork chop for lunch and one (or more) filet for breakfast. The waiter warns that the pork chop is cooked to order and will take 20-30 minutes.

Star still has the old menu for lunch and breakfast.

Also, with the exception of the embarkation day, lunch and breakfast for suites is served in Moderno across the hall from Cagney's. Same menu, just it means they can use the Moderno salad bar as a breakfast bar rather than have a separate one set up in Cagney's just for breakfast.

Sam, it looks like you're boarding the Gem :D...although you didn't say so in your text...I see it in your signature ;). On the Gem they're still offering breakfast & lunch in Cagney's for suite guests. Have a wonderful time!
