Wondering what types of speakers Celebrity offers, if any, on Transatlantic cruises. Really enjoyed previous Celebrity Caribbean cruises that have had entertaining or informative speakers....anyone care to share their experiences?

Transatlantic Fll to Barcelona. We had 2 speakers that I remember. First, and best, was a woman who spoke about the destinations and also about the history of brothels. Every session, in the showroom on the Equinox, was packed. The other speaker was a former DA or assistant DA in Los Angeles. He spoke about celebrity criminal cases, including OJ. Interesting subjects but boring speaker.

We've done six trans-Atlantics and two trans-Pacific cruises. Speakers have ranged from art historians to astronomy.

One of the most interesting we had was a guy who was a retired physics professor. He did two presentations about Albert Einstein and then a series on inventions. He had a great sense of humor and most passengers were in agreement that we would have loved to have had him as a professor.

On our Solstice TA, we had Nigel West (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) lecturing on intelligence (spies); a lecturer on SETI (Search for Exterrestrial Intelligence) and one lecturing on astronomy. EM

We were fortunate to have Melinda Bates, the head of Pres. Bill Clinton's Visitors office, on TAs two years apart. This was purely coincidental. She was non-partisan in her presentations. It is fascinating to get an insider's look at the workings within the White House. She did not "sugar coat" her opinions about Monica Lewinsky affair, who worked in the office next door to hers at the White House. She also spoke about White House traditions at Christmas during a number of different administrations and a number of anecdotes about visitors to the WH, both famous and infamous! Melinda always spoke to a packed house in the Celebrity Theater.

The Beyond the Podium speakers on a TA is one of the reasons that TAs are our favorite itinerary.
