My firecracker customer service agent was able to move me from 2B to 2A no charge...got me the coveted bump out oversized angled balcony which will come in handy on 6 sea days

I booked with this agency earlier in the week. I have used them multiple times in the past and never had any problems with getting promised perks. However, I see that a couple of you have stated that you were able to combine your captain's club one-category upgrade with the perks from the firecracker sale. When I e-mailed the agent I am dealing with, I was told that the upgrade was not combinable with the other promotion.

I booked a 2B, so thought I should get the 2C price (or an upgrade to a 2A, but would prefer to keep the 2B cabin).

Have any others tried to combine the upgrade with the promotion and if so, what was the result?

Thanks.

I had the same experience. Have a 2B angled balcony with 5 other friends cabins nearby and charged as 2B. Don't want an upgrade and advised that Select comp upgrade from 2C not combinable. Spectacular price though...$939 7 night Summit Oct 28 '17...$400 obc and classic pkg. Not going to fret over the $40pp difference in cat upgrade.

Was booked originally through an auto club that said this offer couldn't be true....they found that it was and said they couldn't match...cancelled and we rebooked.

I booked with this TA too for the first time. Do you know if I will be able to see my perks in my celebrity account? I got premium pack, internet, prepaid grat and 400 obc. I know obc usually doesnt show up in the reservation details available on celebrity.com but what about the rest?

May I suggest Cruise Travel Firecracker Sale in your Google Search. You will find both their Facebook page listed & the website.

I, too, was wondering and hoping for a hint/search term so I can take a look at the fabulous savings everyone is talking about. I tried to search the same words but in different order and did not get what I got when I used your suggestion. Thank you!!!!

Was able to book my same cabin, and get the upgraded amenities (had previously booked with this same agency, but the perks are better in this sale). I am assuming some of the OBC will be non-refundable or non-cashable (does anyone remember the codes for how to tell what's refundable vs. what's not).

For our April cruise, the PP price has gone up $100, so it almost negates the upgrades - almost. I'll wait and see what sales they might have for Labour Day.

You should see the perks you are getting from Celebrity buy I doubt if you will see the ones from the ta. Everything should show what you get, from everyone, on the conformation you had to agree with before they actually booked the cruise. This conformation is great because it tells you exactly what you are getting and from whom. Everything is in black and white.

Try googling "2016 firecracker cruise sale."

The sale was supposed to end last night but it's been extended to Monday night. They are open for awhile today but closed on Sunday and Monday. You can book on line and they will contact you sometime Tuesday to go over it with you. You are not locked in until they e-mail you a written conformation and you return it to them agreeing to the terms.

Can anyone explain the "non-refundable" obc? Won't I be able to use it for gambling or buying something on the ship?

You can use it for anything on the ship, goods or casino [emoji4] you just won't be able to cash it out, so just make sure there's nothing left on the last night or it will be lost [emoji4]

Thanks for all of the replies.

I did go back and look at the terms of the sale and it says not combinable with senior, resident and loyalty. I'm guessing that the Captain's Club upgrade is considered "loyalty." The perks are so much better than anyone else is offering, so I'm not going to worry about the upgrade and just enjoy the perks!!

My inlaws booked under this promo as did I. She however went through the standard "find your cruise' search and didn't click the link directly to the promo. She thought she was getting a really good deal (nearly $600 savings on a standard balcony), but come to find out no perks were included. Make sure you know what you are getting!

A water downed version of the firecracker sale has been extended. It amounts to the "Better" package at the same price you see on Celebrity. The sale part is that you can upgrade to "Best" for $20 p.p. per day versus the normal $45. It also doesn't have the extra $100 refundable obc that they had last week. We booked a 10 day cruise last week and we saved $500 p.p. by booking last week rather than waiting. Booking the "best" package this week would still save $250 p.p. over booking through the cruise line.

For everyone that looked for this sale last week, it was on available from one travel agency. That should tell you a lot on the relationship these two have.

No, I don't work for them, I just think they consistently give me the best bang for my buck.

I was leary about booking with an agency I had never used before, so I found the best online deal I could and called Celebrity directly. The agent spoke with a supervisor, verified the deal online, and matched it.

I personally like booking with Celebrity. If they will match online deals, why book any other way?

I've never booked with them online, I always call and talk directly to them to make sure exactly what I'm paying, and what perks I'm getting and from who. When we agree, they send me a pending conformation with everything spelled out in black and white, no chance for a misunderstanding. They don't do the booking until I return the conformation agreeing to the terms. If I don't send it back, there is no booking made.

Did your inlaws receive a conformation? Was there a place to acknowledge the terms and return it?

It wouldn't hurt to call them and discuss it. At the very least, you might be able to get the new deal that started today. That would save them a little money anyway.

When I first started cruising in the mid 2000s, I tried exactly that. Not only with Celebrity, but Princess, and Holland America. I got my best deal and called them and not one of them would budge so I stopped doing it. Things change. I just got off the phone with a Celebrity supervisor and they stood firm also. Maybe I didn't talk to the right person, or the gap was so big ($500 p.p.) they couldn't.

She called this morning and they honored yesterday's sale no question asked, even though they certainly didn't have to. Their site does say online bookings will receive email confirmation of perks within 24 hours but I knew just based on the price she paid there was no way it was correct. I haven't received my own email confirmation yet since I just booked late yesterday, but I'm not expecting an issues given most people's positive experiences so far.

I tried this too but Celebrity would not match it. I tried twice with 2 different reps. I think you got lucky. After reading reassuring posts from people on this thread O went ahead n booked with this agency last week.

I also tried to get Celebrity to match a deal I found months ago and at the time, I was told that free upgrade from better to best could not be matched. (This was the promotion this agency had at the time)

Celebrity's July 4 sale(at least that's what they call it) does end July 6. The other sale mentioned, the Firecracker sale ends Friday, July 8. The annual Firecracker sale is only offered by one travel agency.

The sale through the TA being discussed offered what was basically the 'Best' package through Monday but the extension of the sale is now equivalent to the 'Better' package now and without the extra $100 OBC thrown in. In my case the Best option was offered at an $800 savings compared to Celebrity's price.
