Does anyone know or have a guess when the Asian cruises in summer of 2017 will be released? Have been waiting quite a while now with no answer from Royal Caribbean. I'm hoping they're not just for the Asian market.

I can only answer for cruises out of Singapore and that they are on sale now as we are on Mariner in February 2018.

I believe the ships on this route move to Australia in the summer so maybe this is why summer 2017 is not showing if when you say Asia you mean Singapore.

If you mean from China, sorry can't help with that.

My travel agent asked Royal and they were told end of July, but no exact date yet. I wouldn't be confident that they'll stick to that though. I've been waiting for ages too...

Hi Clinpsy, are you talking about cruises from Singapore or China here.

I'm a bit confused that I have booked a Feb 2018 cruise from Singapore and recall when I booked it at the time that no travel agent here in the UK was able to offer it as it hadn't been released to them yet.

I thought this was strange so hope i haven't booked through a website glitch

Quite surprised why they've not released all the Asian itineraries yet. With two of their newest ships in China, I would have assumed they would have the itineraries up on their websites.

Not like it's going to make a difference to me anyway. Last month when I was booking my next cruise on board the Explorer, the agent told me that these cruises were tagged as "Cultural cruises" which is just fancy speak for having all announcements in Mandarin, most cuisines which suited the Chinese palette and smoking in the casinos.

To add to that the horror stories that I've read along with 2 first hand encounters from friends and family (who cruised out of Singapore) about the chinese people cutting lines at elevators, pushing for food in the buffet and smoke smell everywhere, I probably won't look at doing a cruise out of China anytime soon.

Real shame since I'd love to check out the Quantum class ship and airfares to Singapore/China are alot less than airfares to Europe and the USA.

  • 2 weeks later...

I called Royal yesterday and was informed that they "had no idea" about when the itineraries would be released. The agent asked me to call back in August, then in September to keep on checking. Extremely disappointed because I've been waiting a while now. Did someone say late July?

I am waiting also for them to release them, just off Rhapsody and was advised that it would be August they would be released.

If anyone is in HK or Singapore any dates for departures that have been released over there already for the months July and October 2017 would be helpful in my planning.

I'm waiting for China - ovation and quantum ships.

I was on Legend for 3 B2B cruises from Sydney to Singapore that got cancelled. We booked the 12 night Ovation from Singapore to Beijing and I'm waiting to find out what they will do after that! I don't want to just take some 3 night cruises before leaving Singapore. I'm hoping to find something out soon otherwise, I'll change to a different ship/itinerary in Spring.

Over the last few years Royal has not released Asian?Chinese cruises until October or November for the following year. What was a surprise this year was when Royal released Singapore cruises in late April.

Asians only book a few weeks in advance. Trip advisor says when travelling in Asia do not book too far in advance as most of the hotels do not come on sale until under 6 months in advance.
