Bermuda passport

However, if for any reason (illness, miss the boat, etc.) you need to fly home:

"U.S. citizens traveling to the United States by air from the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda or Canada are required to travel with a valid U.S. passport."

Always good to have a passport, just in case.

Yeah we're usually good. Wife thought her passport was still valid. Checked it today and it expired. Leaving on the Bermuda cruise in a little more than 2 weeks. So just trying to figure out our options.:)

With that short of a time left, I would use a passport visa agency. i could tell you who we use, but not sure that is allowed here. if there is a way to private message me I can tell you. there are ways to get one in less than 2 weeks. it won't be cheap though.

She should take her expired passport with her, too. If for some reason you did need to board a flight, it would be easier to establish her identity with a recently-expired passport versus having nothing but a state ID. There are no hard and fast rules about what they will and will not accept to ultimately allow her on a plane. Obviously you'd be dealing with a special circumstance at that point.

Since the Bermuda cruise of the Summitt leaves out of New Jersey and is a closed loop cruise, is a birth certificate the only id required.

For U.S. "Closed Loop" Sailings beginning in a U.S. port (including San Juan, Puerto Rico), traveling only within the Western Hemisphere, and returning to the same U.S. port (including San Juan, Puerto Rico)

Valid passport or Birth Certificate and valid Drivers License is acceptable.

How would this work for a 16 year old that doesn't have a DL yet?

The Celebrity Cruises robot continues it's decline.

This is what it should have posted from the Celebrity web site.

"For voyages that begin and end in the same U.S. Port, U.S. citizens may travel with both a Government-issued birth certificate** and Government-issued picture ID card, such as a driver's license."

You do need some kind of government issued ID like a State Issued ID. Under 16 only the birth certificate is required.
