How many to debark with Platinum?

There is no problem with quickrate's assertion. Do you really think the OP is the only one trying to get 10 family members off using platinum status?

No, but I think large parties like that are fairly rare (4 to 6 a cruise) and a lot of times they're not looking to get off early anyway. So I don't think letting platinum family members take their family with them would result in every Platinum taking 4 or 5 off with them.

Keep in mind, the Platinum people are probably the ones who directed the group towards Carnival in the first place.

Except the practice of taking non-status people with you on a perk, is one of the reasons the Golds were dropped from the VIFP Parties..

But, a poster thinks only 4-6 people do this sort of thing:);)

I know there were 82 platinum cruisers on the Legend last week (mostly couples). We mingled with 3 or 4 couples at the PParty and we were the only ones that were traveling with extended family.

Before you ask, NO we did not take any of them to the party with us and NO they did not Debark with us. DW and I self assisted to get off ahead of everyone to pick up two mini vans.

But YES my extended family was able to enjoy use of rental car, air, bags, preferential airline seating and boarding plus hotel nights that were all part of status earned loyalty perks with National, Hilton, and AA.

So I'm just saying, Carnival seemed rather small by comparison. If the intent of the program is to make others want to cruise more on Carnival or to make those who have, more proud of the time they have spent with Carnival - it does not succeed.

But is this option only if you want to get off the ship early? Or can you go to this location whenever you are ready to get off?

Thanks

If you go to that location later in the morning you will find an empty room.

They come get the Diamond/Platinum guests when it is time for them to debark the #1 luggage tags.

If you want to get off later, then use the tags given because of your cabin location and report to that area to wait. Or, if that is still too early for you, check the list of estimated debarkation times, pick the one you want and get the corresponding luggage tags for that group and go to that lounge to wait.

You don't even need a platinum member to get you off the boat early. You can buy zone one tags on eBay everyday.

Interesting. We got the letter about where to meet, and the #1 tags the last afternoon. In order to get through the ropes set up around the lobby and into the designated waiting area we had to show our Diamond Sail and Sign cards to several people and again at the doorway to the room. Do you have a fake Diamond or Platinum card too?

Our last debarkation on the Freedom had a separate waiting area for the 104 Platinum guests and one for the 4 Diamond guests and cabin mates. The Diamond waiting room was super small, but then again there were only 8 people in total. They had coffee, juice and Danish set up, which was a nice touch, and a crew member waited with us the entire time. The entertainment director came to get us and he escorted us to the front of the debarkation line, which made lots of the self assist people mad. We were let off about halfway through self assist.

It was super easy to find the luggage because the only #1's were Diamonds, so there were maybe 8 suitcases in total under the #1 sign. Platinum guests had #2.

I don't need a fake platinum card as I have been for the last 8 cruises. I was simply stating that the tags can be purchased. On another note, I would be interested to know where your debark experience has been that way as it has been a free for all between Diamonds/plats and fttf where I have done priority debarkation.

For us it's been a mix. The Triumph couldn't get it right. We were in the same area with the Diamonds and FTTF. No big deal, just my observation.

On the Magic they grouped us by status in different waiting areas.

The one thing so many have forgot on this thread is our host, in this case Carnival permits us to take our family and friends, up to 5 per Platinum in the area. In 28 Carnival cruises, using self-debarkation from the priority area the total process took only a few minutes.

I've never, not one one cruise seen someone denied departure due to card color. With FTTF it's a collection of all the cards and status. My family has only been on nine ships, so who knows...

Never seen a debark list on Carnival. Have seen one on Princess. But we sail West Coast. Things are very different over here.

One cruise DH and I (both Platinum) carpooled with two women (both gold). We waited towards middle of debark to avoid the Los Angeles Monday morning rush hour. (Rush hour is bad enough, add in Semi-trucks and it's horrifying.)

Waiting in line a crew member sees my Platinum card and says we can go to the head of the line. He hesitated when we said we were also traveling with two others.
