Cinerama Posted August 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Its been a few years since I have seen one a Princess ship. You have ten people sign up, $60 each. $250 for the winner, $150 for second place (or they can split the $150 when only two left). I didn't know if they just stopped them. Rare azbirdmom Posted August 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2016 We haven't seen them for a while. Last time we asked we were told that it varies by ship but it has probably been two years since we have seen one.

IDsailor Posted August 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2016 Last fall on the Emerald I asked the casino manager about them. She said that there would be no tournaments during my cruise. I guess they would rather see the poker-pro table with nobody sitting at it. My next cruise I am bringing my own cards and chips to set up friendly tournaments. I would much rather have the true deals of real cards anyway.
greenie082756 Posted August 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2016 The Golden didn't have it on our 10 cruise to Alaska. Seems such a sad thing to stop. I'm hoping on our Hawaii cruise in October that its implemented. I am going to ask. What's the worse they can say...No?? Really, if they can set up a blackjack tournament, they can do a poker tournament...after all its run by a machine. :D
wheezedr Posted August 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2016 Have not seen one on my last three princess cruises.
Cinerama Posted August 29, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Sorry to bring up this old thread but, I wish they would bring back the poker tournaments. I never see anyone at the poker table.
neverbeenhere Posted August 29, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Best to have a quiet private game in a suite or in the buffet. Company doesn't get a cut. But, quiet is the operative word.
IDsailor Posted August 29, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2018 I set up the game on the Lido Deck every evening. Not a word was said to us by any of the crew. It was more fun than the Poker Pro table anyway.
