Pricing is not at all appealing especially considering a percent of the cruise fare contributes to food cost.

These are land based prices, and in some cases, above land based prices.

We were offered 30% off every night that we went, and the food was delicious. We ate there three times.

Looks good, we're looking forward to trying it.

But do they season the sushi with wasabi etc unlike the Ocean View café! The latter has the most tasteless sushi I've ever eaten. Please tell me that SO5 serve the real thing!

It tastes nothing like this sushi in the Ocean View (thankfully).

Sorry Tom, I saw your question too late.

  • 1 month later...
  • 2 weeks later...

We book a mix of RS and PH where speciality dining is included. What happens in sushi on 5 where you pay per item? Is your bill just $0 or is there a set amount and you pay above that?

We are not really sushi fans but curious how this works. Thanks..

We were in an RS on Eclipse recently and ate in Sushi a few times when Luminae wasn't open for lunch. Each time the bill was $0, though they still felt the need to give it to us to sign...

Thanks for that information...Each time we cruise there seems to be something different than last time! As I say we are not big sushi fans but may pop in for an odd lunch...

Since the menu shows a la carte pricing, I assume that there is no additional cover charge?

Correct - I was on the Summit last week and I was surprised how busy the place was. Obviously Celebrity made the correct decision. I will never eat there but to each it's own. $30-$40 pp minimum just for food? No thanks. My two cruises this year on the Summit and the Constellation had awesome food.

I am on the Summit next week. Do you remember any of your stand out meals? What is not to miss?

Yes!

Dinner:

Beef Wellington and lobster tail excellent

Beef short ribs amazing

Beef tournedo also good.

At lunch we loved having fresh cooked salmon at the rear of the cafe on 10.

Crowded on sea days!

Have a great cruise!
