Obc

We have b2b cruises booked on Infinity. We have a substantial OBC on the first cruise and would like to use it to book an excursion on the second cruise. Would Celebrity allow such a transaction?

Unfortunately, no. We have tried this and were told that it is not permitted.

Thanks for the replies. That is what I thought. I will have to cancel one I had already booked for the first cruise and book it on board. It was so much easier when we could take out unused OBC as cash.

Be sure to use up your Celebrity OBC first. It is not refundable unless you go through the casino. OBC from other sources, like from your TA, is refunded automatically. It usually appears on your credit card a day or two after final disembarking. Celebrity is pretty good on using Celebrity OBC first. You can follow it on the accounts station on your TV.

Unfortunately, not transferable to a future Celebrity cruise.

Yep, always nice when non refundable anything is actually refundable. I would love to do this with airline tickets.

Is the OBC thru the BOA card points refundable?

If your obc is the refundable kind, and you have a cash account at checkin, you can receive the remaining obc on the last night of your first cruise in cash from guest services. You can then use that towards payment of seapass account on second cruise. Doesn't work if it's non-refundable obc but you didn't say which you have. We did this on our last cruise when we pre-purchased obc for a b2b.

Our OBC is a perk of booking on board another cruise and not refundable as far as I know. I believe Celebrity has stopped allowing cruisers to take out cash at the casino according to a thread I read a few months back.

I cancelled one excursion in a port where there are currently several options available that we would enjoy. We'll book something in that port as soon as we board. We also have a smaller OBC on the second cruise which is considered repositioning. We will book our airport transfers combined with a tour of the Everglades. We will use the rest of the OBC for sodas, water, and incidentals and hope to break close to even.

We do not drink alcohol and prefer not to eat in the specialty restaurants. We never spend as much on water/soda as the cost of a drink package. We used to enjoy Bistro, but have no taste for sushi. We have often found ourselves at the gift shop sales at the end of the cruise trying to spend OBC. I wish all our problems were as simple as determining how to spend OBC. :D

You don't need to have a cash account in order to get refundable OBC in cash at the end of the cruise. We always set up our account with a credit card and have been able to get OBC in cash several times.
