tutuwahineLV Posted September 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2016 We're going on our first RCL adventure in less than two weeks, and I'm excited to try something new. ((long time NCL, branching out)) That being said, and knowing that food is always subjective, I know that everyone has their favorite thing they look forward to having while aboard ship. For me, on the 'other' line, it's always the pretzel rolls. What is the treat or meal that you look forward to? and please show me the pictures if you have em.... don't be ashamed of that food porn, even Anthony Bourdain has been seen snapping a pic of his favorite eats. So, show me what to expect, please....and thank you.

There's a very recent review of Adventure that was just finished by cyntil8ing... scroll through that to see if they added any food porn or comments regarding dining http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2396271&highlight=adventure I'm currently in the middle of my review from my Aug 20-27 sailing http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2395801&highlight=adventure I'll let the cat out of the bag of something I will mention in my review upcoming... each night the Wingjammer buffet has a theme night. On night 4 specifically they had an Indian night. Most of the Chefs are Indian descent. They had a high end Indian restaurant quality spread I would have gladly paid an upcharge for!!! Absolutely fantastic Indian food that night and I am so glad I ventured up to WJ for dinner instead of the Main Dining Room. So ask one of the staff what theme they have for any specific evening... I discovered they had Italian, Caribbean and British theme nights amongst others. I'll have pics of this Indian night in my review. You have to do Giovanni's Italian at least one evening. It's an upcharge but absolutely worth it... and they offered a 2 for 1 special both evenings #1 and #2 on my sailing. Go hungry. Try the risotto & crab raviolli. Both seafood entrees were perfect as was the Ossobucco. Sorry I did not take photos. Main dining room fave entree was lamb (final evening, Pomodoro menu). Again sorry, did not take food photos. For a desert/snack, make sure to try the chocolate covered cheesecake pops at the Promenade cafe.... YUM YUM :D:D
JoyMouse Posted September 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2016 The Tutti salad bar in the Main Dining Room for lunch on seas days is worth going to at least once. I love the cranberry raisin bread and oatmeal muesli they serve in the Windjammer (buffet) for breakfast. The scallops au gratin appetizer (same preparation as the nightly escargot) is yummy. Be sure to ask for extra rolls. Their key lime pie is always a solid performer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ashland Posted September 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2016 Recently sailed Adventure...Try the Willy Wonka Pie in the Promenade Cafe....Bread Pudding and Creme Brulee in the dining room...Apple Pie in Johnny Rockets...Great Cake on the last sea day only (huge sheet cake they cut during the lunch hour...it went fast) These are the only desserts I enjoy...most all other's on RCI ships have very little to no taste and are gelatin based... I complain about this often when given the chance....Everyone seems to love the cookies....I personally think their too hard, dry and crunchy....I make a much better softer Coconut Ranger Cookie ;) RCI needs a good pastry chef to help return to the desserts they had many many years ago onboard. tutuwahineLV Posted September 5, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted September 5, 2016 Beef Wellington in the MDR, and Red Velvet Cake in Chops. sounds lovely, but I'll have to pass on the Red Velvet, our family makes this as special occasion/birthday cake, and the recipe is one of those passed down from the grandmothers.... nobody else's RV has ever come close to what we make.
