The revolving restaurant at the top of the Sky Tower in Auckland provided a memorable dinner.  Scenery was great (arrived before the Sun was setting for a drink and then dinner as the Sun set) and the food was very good (had lamb chops, of course) and the service was excellent.

Most memorable meals in NYC was in the 60's at the Famous German Restaurant

Luchow's on 14th Street.

Each Meal Outstanding!

Oh, you fortunate New Yorkers!  So many great restaurants!

My Mother had a former boy friend who became an executive in some New York firm.  (Might have been born a New Yorker if that romance had continued.)  She took my Brother and me on a visit to New York (our first) (and by train:  New York Central's Ohio State Limited).  She informed this gentlemen we were coming and he invited us for dinner.  Dinner was at the Rainbow Room.  (My introduction to Lobster Thermidor.)  Fine dining  and I was old enough and had enough experience at that young age to appreciate where I was and what I was experiencing.

Top of the Sixes:  I thought this was fine dining and was memorable.  The best?  What do others think?

The night before my traveling companion and I sailed for our first trip to Europe on the Royal Viking Sky, we dined at Windows on the World.  Fine dining?  Opinions please.  The food was very good; nothing wrong with the service that I can remember; the setting and sights probably over powered any really objective judgement about the food.  Don't recall the bottom line on our bill, but, I do remember it was NOT inexpensive.
