scorpiony3358 Posted September 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2016 Hi, I'm looking to sail on the Regatta to South America from Miami Feb 2nd 2017. As a seasoned cruiser I enjoy smoking Cuban cigars especially when at sea. While I was looking at the deck plan for the Regatta it doesn't show an enclosed smoking lounge on deck 9 port side by the Horizon Lounge like on the Insigna. Does it exist on the Regatta. As I travel solo meeting other cigar smokers is a fun way to cruise.
Cruseforme Posted September 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2016 Yes, there is an enclosed smoking area in Horizons, however, per Oceania regulations "Cigar and pipe smoking is only permitted on the forward, starboard corner of the Pool Deck". scorpiony3358 Posted September 29, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted September 29, 2016 That's disappointing, but if the weather is nice it won't matter to me.
DeanoNorthPerth Posted September 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2016 It's not disappointing for the rest of the passengers.

The outdoor smoking area under the stairs is a bit sheltered so you might be fine there ;) Horizons smoking area Edited September 29, 2016 by LHT28

scorpiony3358 Posted October 8, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted October 8, 2016 I'm a live an let live guy. When I'm in a casino I don't sit down next to someone who is already playing a slot machine, but if a person sits next to me while I am smoking and asks me to put out my cigar I refuse as I was there first. Mura Posted October 8, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 8, 2016 I personally hate cigarette smoke, let along cigar smoke which makes me gag, but I agree with you that if you are there first, let the new guy find a place away from the smoke. If someone asks me "mind if I smoke", that's one thing. I'll always say, "Yes, I mind." But I'd never ask some who was there before me to put out the cigarette or cigar. orchestrapal Posted October 8, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Fortunately there are ONLY the TWO areas where people can smoke. We find it very easy to avoid those areas completely. Anyone who feels about smoke as we do can easily do the same. ( sure it would be nice if they cut it out everywhere)

Gloss fer all the negative folks, the smoking area on the ship is in a wonderful , sheltered, up-scale area with super comfy chairs, next to the of the best bar, Waves, with a super attentive staff. and wonderful access to anywhere and cool breezes and weather shelter. I think the best place on the entire deck 9...it can not be beat. Best of all it is where you will find probably the nicest, warmest and easy going interesting people on the ship. No one has an axe to grind, an agenda or a cross to bear.. Frankly, I am a non smoker but have found it is with these wonderful people that I really enjoy my time on the ship. Much nicer than tightly-wound crusade driven zelots and former anything reformed folks.. Edited October 10, 2016 by Hawaiidan
