kaylaakentt Posted October 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Traveling on Anthem in 18 days! Hubby is wondering if there is AT&T service in Puerto Rico so he can check something quick for work. Not a big deal if there isn't but just curious. Thank you! steveru621 Posted October 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Puerto Rico and USVI is included in your AT&T coverage area. Don't expect to get 4G LTE in the USVI but Puerto Rico is covered near the ports.

slidergirl Posted October 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2016 I had AT&T availability on my tablet all the way out to Rio Grande. Used it everyday... I honestly never looked at bars or if the LTE showed, but I didn't have any troubles with service or speed.

Rare mizLORInj Posted October 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) My AT&T phone worked fine in San Juan and St. Thomas earlier this year. I used wifi in St. Maarten. crspr Posted October 27, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 27, 2016 What about Verizon ? Verizon will work, but on roaming. However, from what i understand, roaming is free with Verizon. You just need to have it turned on to roam.
GalCruzer Posted October 28, 2016 #12 Share Posted October 28, 2016 I have a Samsung Smart Phone (not the newest one that overheats ) and we're going on a Southern Caribbean Cruise. It starts in San Juan with stops in St Thomas, St Lucia, St Martin, St Kitts and Barbados. Will I incur roaming charges at all of these ports if I want to post pictures on Facebook? Thanks

Thanks Roaming charges have nothing to do with the type of phone you have. AT&T, T-Mobile and sprint all have wireless service in Puerto Rico. Verizon has service with roaming using Claro's signal. I know for sure AT&T has service with no charges at St. Thomas but don't know about all the other carriers. No US carriers available at any of the other islands. You need to check with you wireless provider on your restrictions and charges for international roaming if you REALLY need to have your phone available. After St. Thomas, all I did with mine was take pictures. Airplane mode was on until the morning we arrived back in SJ.
