Soda Package

Recommended Posts

I just took my first cruise on Celebrity Summit. My wife and I had the soda package. Apparently the plans are quite different from Celebrity and RC. On our cruise, every place had cans of soda. You give the bartender or hostess your seapass and they give you cans of soda with glasses with ice. We would get a number of cans, unopened, to take back to our room. I understand on RC they give you a plastic cup and you get your own from a machine.

I'm confused on exactly how the RC plan works.

You get a souvenir cup that you can use if you choose to get soda from a fountain. But you can also show your seapass card at a bar or MDR to have a soda over ice. I've never seen soda handed out in a can or bottle.

So, what do you drink when in your room?

If you want to use your soda package, you fill your cup at the Coke Freestyle machine and take it back to your cabin.

When you want more, you return to the machine and refill your cup.

Just verifying - I will get a soda brought to me at dinner in the MDR with the drink package? I won't have to bring the souvenir cup and get up and search for a Freestyle machine?

Correct. However, if you don't use the cup at a Freestyle machine, yiur choices of soda will usually be limited to Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, soda water, and tonic water.

Can I assume there is a refrigerator in the rooms and ice is supplied?

Ice is supplied upon request to your stateroom attendant.

Most staterooms have coolers, but there are still some stateroom categories on older ships that don't have coolers.
