The only problem is...in many ports rain comes with wind. Those folding ones easily go inside out and we have had many giggles remembering me nearly taking off like Mary Poppins with the big one on a very blustery Caribbean day!

 

I have to be honest and say we rarely use them. We always cruise with those plastic throw away ponchos from the dollar shop (as UK citizens we stock up each time we visit the US!). They easily fit into your pocket, protect you better from the rain and as yet I haven't taken off in one!
