sugcarol Posted November 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2016 On embarkation day are Boleros or Schooner Bar open? Is there anywhere to get a Mojito? I know there are only certain drinks that can be ordered because of Texas rules, but I don't know what they are.

This is from Navigator when she was in Galveson, but should be similar for Liberty: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=45457488&postcount=
George C Posted November 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2016 You can get most drinks but not the brand of drinks like for scotch all they had was Dewar's until about 6pm, I was able to survive not having top shelf for a few hours ( but I did not like it)

Clarea Posted November 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2016 Thanks for the feedback, guess we can get a Mojito, so all is good. You're welcome. If you have a chance, and you see a document like I linked above, please take a photo and post it. I'm curious of any differences that Liberty might have. fd851 Posted November 27, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 27, 2016 One of our traditions is champagne at sail-away. You can't get it until international waters, so if it is important to you, take your own!

fd851 Posted November 28, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 28, 2016 Nope....we are on her in October. There was nothing sparkling on the list of Texas Tax approved drinks, and we couldn't get it anywhere.
fdthird Posted November 28, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) On our Liberty back2back last month, be stopped at the store and brought our own. 2 bottles per cabin, but they check you at security and didn't ask for cabin numbers, so my wife and I both brought 2 bottles each. We just ignored each other at security. Edited November 28, 2016 by fdthird
Bookster99 Posted November 28, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 28, 2016 On our Liberty back2back last month, be stopped at the store and brought our own. 2 bottles per cabin, but they check you at security and didn't ask for cabin numbers, so my wife and I both brought 2 bottles each. We just ignored each other at security. I wonder what would have happened if you'd been stopped? Would they confiscate 2 bottles? Or all of them since you "violated" a rule? Either way, you'd probably need a drink on board! :-)
Bookster99 Posted November 28, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 28, 2016 Heck, after the chaos of embarcation, I'd be happy with even a beer!
fdthird Posted November 29, 2016 #15 Share Posted November 29, 2016 I would have just said we misunderstood. All they were checking for was that it was a wine product.
