Late flight post cruise excursion question

After disembarking from Port Everglades our flight out of Miami isn't until 10pm. Has anyone done the Celebrity excursion Miami hop on hop off tour? The Celebrity website states it's 5 hours long which would only take us to just after lunchtime, so still many hours to spare. Don't want to be sat at the airport for hours!! Any advice greatly appreciated!

Rent a car if you can and then drive to Miami (less than an hour) and/ or the Everglades There won't be much ch after dark but I believe there is a large amusement/ mini golf just north of the airport to pass some time. Downtown. Delray is a nice place for dinner and getting back to airport by 8 pm is fine. Rental car return is right in the airport gatage

For that late a flight I would def look into renting a car. I've done the hop on/hop off bus tour in Miami, and it can certainly be done on ur own for any length of time, but since the main benefit is Celebrity storing your luggage you are stuck on their time table. Rent a car and either visit destinations on your own or buy tickets for the hop on/hop off bus on your own. Think you can get them on Groupon for a discount.

Alternatively look at booking a day room at a hotel...Have a nice lunch and swim before being able to shower and change before flying....

We booked a day tour in Miami post cruise and were so exhausted we all fell asleep really more a test of endurance for us. The driver not a happy bunny.

Our next cruise 7.1.18 we dock in Miami and hope to book a day room with maybe transfers.

Any recommendations out there. Thanks in advance.

We usually don't take the ship Excursions, but the post cruise tour of Miami was excellent.

We toured South Beach, saw over all Miami, enjoyed the art in Wynwood, and really enjoyed Little Havana. We were given extra time to enjoy local food and the mojitos. We were these the day before Castro died, so that made our stop even more interesting. They had the luggage separated for those going out of Miami and for those out of Ft. Lauderdale. Our only complaint was that we were dropped off way away from our airline. Miami Airport is gigantic. Great way to spend the morning before a 3:30 flight.

Day rooms aren't easy to come up with. The Rodeway offers them, but doesn't get the best reviews. A cab to Miami Beach would be easy, if you instead could find a room there.

It would be wonderful if you could change the flight until the next day, but probably not possible.

Being from UK would make driving tougher.

Ship excursions will get you to the airport with hours more to wait preflight.
