Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2016 Just missed getting a full shot of the ship as she entered Outer Harbour in Adelaide today. Looks like a good crowd turned out. Please feel free to post any pics if you get any today.:)
Calvinfromoz Posted December 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2016 You beat me to it by a few minutes. Just posted a photo of the ship entering Outer Harbor in another thread. Will post some more photos here when I get a chance.
Calvinfromoz Posted December 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2016 This one is the best I can do of the whole ship in the channel, my skills with the crop and paste programs are sadly lacking.
Rare MicCanberra Posted December 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2016 Thanks David, it may only be half the ship but it looks so large and awesome.:D
Calvinfromoz Posted December 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) It will be interesting to watch her leave port this afternoon. Looking at the marine tracking map she has docked starboard side to the wharf. Given that Ovation is 348 m in length it will be a tight squeeze to turn here around as the Outer Harbor channel is (roughly) around 500 m wide at the area where she is berthed and shallows out against the breakwater opposite the wharf it looks like a tight squeeze turn or reverse tow with a tug. Will wait and see what happens. Edited December 10, 2016 by Calvinfromoz

Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 11, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted December 11, 2016 How do I post photos here? (is there a right way/wrong way/better way). I took a few this morning. Save them as JPEG in your pictures. Go Tinypic and upload them to get a URL for posting on message boards. The URL will have IMG in brackets at the beginning and end of the URL. Then copy that and post.
Calvinfromoz Posted December 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Problem solved. She sailed upstream about 1 kilometer to a wider part of the Port River and spun around on her thrusters.
