For those of you who have cruised the Oasis or Allure, which have large casinos, how is the casino on the Reflection. Lots of slots??? How does it compare?

It is smaller. (to be expected, Reflection is a smaller ship) A lots of slots. Not sure what you mean by how it compares but it is a lot better than the casions on Oasis and Allure because it does not stink. It is non smoking.

Agree about the smoking, also extremely tight. We were Seven Stars

With Caesars, rarely play on the ships.

I am just a casual player but I did enjoy the casino on the Reflection.

I liked the non-smoking rule A LOT.

There were nightly promotions after the show that were fun.

They gave away free

play, free drinks and you could win a chance to gamble with the officers etc. There was usually a live poker game going.

I liked that you could get promo chips with your OBC to play at 21 and convert back to cash without any % charge.

We spent time in the casino almost daily but broke about even as we don't play slots.

Thank you, I am a nonsmoker so that is good! How did you like this ship in comparison to the Oasis and Allure?

WOW tough to compare. Those huge RCI ships are in their own unique class when it comes to size, onboard options/activities, etc. The Reflection is really an entirely different kind of class with to focus more on having a classier laid back atmosphere. You will not find water slides, hairy legs competitions, diving for spoons, etc. on the Reflection. You also do not have to worry about making reservations for shows.

Had to smile about the post that called the Reflection about "smaller." Yes it is smaller then the Oasis/Allure...but then just about everything (including many cities) are smaller then those monster vessels. But for us, smaller means fewer then 600 passengers :).

Correct Hank and size is relative, I'm sure you remember when people on these boards thought Century was too big to sail.

I think it is like comparing apples and oranges. I like both apples and oranges and I like Oasis Class and S-Class but they are different "tastes". Your description of the differences above is pretty much my opinion of the differences.

This is what I like about Celebrity. Had a great cruise on Connie...loved that ship. Next up is Reflection; excited about that one too. We also just did our first cruise on a RC mega ship, the Harmony of the Seas transatlantic. And although we had a great time, we didn't love that ship. 2018 goal is a smaller ship.

All good things to hear. Thanks!

Thank you for all the input. I enjoyed the Oasis and Allure and it sounds like the Reflection will be enjoyable too and more laid back. Look forward to some change and realize we all have our preferences :) I have sailed Celebrity before and loved their service.

  • 2 weeks later...

We sailed reflection a couple of years ago and spent a decent amount of time in the casino. I won on several slots and broke even for the week. Had a lot of fun. Thought the casino was decent in size. During the day it did not feel crowded. Liked that they had some less expensive penny slots. Some cruises the minimum penny slot is 40-50 cents. On Reflection you could play 9-10c a spin on a few machines. Bar service was fast if you went up to the bar to get a drink. The bartender even remembered us and what we like to drink.---Sailed the Regal Princess and their casino was small and crowded. Got stuck at a machine, could not pull my chair back to get out once.

I'm sorry I just saw this...14 days later!

We were on the transatlantic bringing Harmony to Ft. Lauderdale. First let me say that we love Freedom and Voyager class...love the Promenade on those ships. On Harmony, the deck 5 Promenade reminded me of a multi-level shopping mall. I know people have made that comparison about Voyager and Freedom class in the past, but on this ship, to me, that's what it really felt like. Also, areas that we've enjoyed on other RC ships, like the Promenade Cafe for a late morning cup of coffee and people watching, never happened because there was NEVER a table available. We really missed the wrap around deck 4 for our leisurely morning walk after breakfast. We had heard the Oasis class ships never felt crowded, but that wasn't the case on this particular cruise.

Impossible to get a seat at the Trellis bar any night around 7pm. Same goes for Bolero's. We gave up and did most of our cocktail hours in the Suite Lounge, which we were lucky to have access to. We had paid for the beverage package though, so a little disappointing.

Made reservations well in advance for the aqua show when shows became available online. Showed up almost an hour early, no seats available. Went to guest services, and was told "this ship is 75% VIP." What??? "You can try again tomorrow, but that night's also sold out." Very disappointing when your husband, who normally has 0 interest in going to shows, was actually looking forward to this one. (We went to the concierge, and he made it happen the next night, and even escorted us to our seats. Loved the show.)

We did enjoy our dinners in the specialty restaurants. Did all of them except Chops and Sabor.

I'm sure this ship will do very well with families sailing the Caribbean. The water slides look fantastic, as does the Ultimate Abyss slide. There are a lot of great things about this ship too. For us though, it wasn't a favorite.

And to try to bring this post back on track. Casino on Harmony large, but already has that stale smoke smell, even when in port. Really enjoy the non-smoking casino on X.
