Yes, go to Grand Central or Penn station and take Amtrak to Baltimore the day before your cruise. Then you can relax and know you'll get on the ship.

We took Amtrak from Charleston, SC to Philly once. The 12 day cruise started in Philly and ended in Charleston. We live in the NC coast, Charleston is a 4 hour drive for us. But to start in Philly and end in SC?

My husband looked at all ways to do this. We ended up driving to Charleston, staying in a hotel where we left our car for free. That night we went to KFC & got chicken and coleslaw, then to a deli for roast beef subs. This went in a cooler in the hotel fridge. There was food on Amtrak but we brought our own - to make sure we liked lunch & dinner!

The next morning we got on Amtrak at 10 am. At 10pm we got to Philly and went to a hotel. Amtrak $75 & was fantastic, even the rest rooms were clean! Next morn we got on the ship. At end of cruise we took cab to hotel and got our car to drive home!

This question should be asked on the East Coast Departures board to reach the folks who sail out of Baltimore on a regular basis.

Price out the total cost of each option. Given the amount of time the trip takes, you should plan to travel the day before the cruise and get a hotel. Amtrak leaves from New York Penn Station. Bus leaves from Port Authority bus terminal. Plane does not appear to be either time effective or cost effective.

Folks on the East Coast board can give specific hotel suggestions based on your date and mode of travel.

Man to stranger: " Sir, can you tell me what's the fastest way to get to Baltimore?"

Stranger to man asking question: " Well, that depends. Are you driving, on horseback or walking?"

Man: " I'm driving."

Stranger: " Well, that would be the fastest way."

We agree that AMTRAC is a good option, but one would still have to pay for transportation over to Penn Station (we suggest using Uber or Lyft). If you plan ahead, it is possible to get deeply discounted AMTRAC Value fares for around $80 per person. Once in Baltimore you would again use taxis or Uber. Another option is to rent a car (one-way) and drive yourself from Brooklyn to Baltimore. We do not recommend renting cars in Brooklyn for those not comfortable with driving in a congested city environment. There are air options from JFK to BWI....but we would strongly recommend forgetting it! Given the time, transfers, and cost...air makes no sense.

Hello, could someone tell us what options do we have to get from Brooklyn, NY to Baltimore cruise terminal. We are on RC cruise on 03/18-03/27/17. Just 2 of us and we don't want to use our car, thank you

We drive from Long Island to Baltimore . From Brooklyn you do not have too many realistic options other than driving .

You either have to get to Atlantic Ave ,take the LIRR to Penn Station and walk through the area to get Amtrak .

That means dragging suitcases on the subway or bus(buses) .

The other option is taking a subway or Express bus to midtown to the Port Authority to get a bus to Baltimore .

Car service from anywhere in Brooklyn to Baltimore is quite expensive .

Car service to JFK or LaGuardia is an option .
