stickey_mouse Posted January 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'm familiar with the TV show but am wondering how it works as an activity onboard NCL's ships. Is it fun and worth the time and money?

cruiserssandr Posted January 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'm familiar with the TV show but am wondering how it works as an activity onboard NCL's ships. Is it fun and worth the time and money? I got up on the stage during our 2015 repositioning cruise out of Boston! I won $148. 2016 I just won an instant win ticket. It's played the same way as the one on TV is.
Cruzncutie Posted January 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I believe the cards are $20 each. I've never bought one, I just sit back and enjoy the show. On the larger ships, its played on the big screen in the atrium. Not sure about the smaller ships. It's tons of fun and always draws a huge crowd. JC5240 Posted January 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) I did this on my last cruise in 2016 on the Getaway. I believe one ticket gets you two plays, and it's a matching game pretty much just like the TV show (on my sailing we actually played in the theater, which made it really exciting to be on the stage with the cruise director). I actually got picked to go on stage for the second game and won $500! It's fun, especially when you have some fun audience interaction. Don't let them intimidate you though!! The last two cases were $500 (mine) and $1 and they all wanted me to deal for around $120...I went to the end, and glad I did! haha As an FYI, any cash winnings are pretty much automatically added to your onboard spending account as refundable OBC, and if there's anything left over go to Guest Services on your last day and they'll cash you out for any remaining balance. Eleteace Posted January 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Yep it's the same as on tv, they usually do it on the two story atrium screen on the Getaway/Breakaway [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
SRUMom66 Posted January 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I thought it was a lot of fun. The first time I played I won a free photo in the gallery. The second time I don't think I won anything but still had fun.
CruiseLovininIL Posted January 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2017 We played it last year on the Dawn. It was fun. But we didn't win anything. We decided next cruise just to be in the audience and watch. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Five at Sea Posted January 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'm familiar with the TV show but am wondering how it works as an activity onboard NCL's ships. Is it fun and worth the time and money? Anyone know if it's family friendly. My kids are 6,8&10 and love to watch the show. Rare BirdTravels Posted January 10, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 10, 2017 The show is family-friendly. You don't have to buy a card if you don't want. Having a card gives you a chance to go up on stage. If you don't get up on stage, you play along with your card and match the values in the suitcases for prize. You can win lottery scratchers, photo packages, up to a free cruise. Give it a try and have fun.
jcann4444 Posted January 11, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 11, 2017 It's fun to play. I went on stage on the Jade from Venice. As it was a European cruise it was a bit Less attended than a US Based cruise. Won 218.00. It's a better return than Bingo where the house hold is huge. Best betting odds is in the casino. Susannekells Posted August 27 #13 Share Posted August 27 I hate those TV game shows. They have a few other very small venues for entertainment but unless you willing to stand in line 2-3 hours, you don't get in, bottom line trapped at sea with nothing to do except read in your cabin. I'm gonna try another cruise line or stay at home
david_sobe Posted August 27 #14 Share Posted August 27 People who buy cards in the audience can win prizes like a free cruise photo or other small stuff. Its fun to watch. The most anyone can win is $1000. On Encore there was a very exciting one where the guy had the $1000 suitcase. It came down to the end. His suitcase and one left on the board. In the end (he was smart) and took the $500 instead of the risk of losing everything. Had he gone all the way he would have won $1000.
