Expiring Future Cruise Credits

Many people may have booked using a Discover card or a card issued by someone like Citibank when they don't normally bank with those institutions. When those cards expire and aren't renewed then there is no way for Princess to return the money other than by check.

And congrats to everyone on this thread who used the correct term - FCD. It ain't a credit until something is done with it.

FCC = Future Cruise Certificate = letter you get acknowledging the deposit you made for a future cruise.

We purchased FCCs and then totally forgot about them as we took an extended break from cruising. To our surprise a check arrived in a "junk mail" type envelope and actually the check inside didn't indicate what is was and came from a third party company! Also, the check EXPIRED in 30 days!!!

The good news is that we booked our next cruise this past summer during a $100 deposit promo!!

Today we received 4 emails from Princess, two for me and two for DH. Princess has extended our Future Cruise Deposits for another year!

For each of us, one message is a letter showing that the Deposit is in effect until Jan 26 2018, and the other message is more like a receipt. The letter says it's from the Future Cruise rep on-board Ocean Princess at the time of our deposit, which I think is weird because obviously Princess no longer owns Ocean Princess and that person isn't in that position, but they've updated their records and sent us the files.

So, many thanks to all who gave me thoughts and ideas. What worked was to use the "Contact" tab on the Princess Captain Circle page of the Princess website... probably not a unique "contact" link for Captain's Circle. I used the page's direct email method requesting an extension for both Deposits. I needed to fill-in the box with the cruise booking number for the cruise about which I was inquiring, so I used the booking number for the cruise on which we purchased the Deposits - glad I had that saved in my files.

Phoning them and talking to them was to no avail but emailing a direct request worked.

I appreciate all your support and help here, now I just hope we can get something booked! m--
