Rare bobmacliberty Posted January 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Would someone please confirm that a cruise deposit is fully refundable if you cancel before final payment is due? We have friends who have never cruised and may join us this fall. I'm encouraging them to book now, under the belief that they can cancel later and not lose any money. Want to be sure that I'm giving them good advice since I've never done it myself. Thanks.

Applies to North American bookings. Edited January 14, 2017 by Ourusualbeach
Rare bobmacliberty Posted January 14, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Thanks Ken! Good add about possible TA fees. I'll make sure to mention that.
clyde1509 Posted January 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2017 I'm in the UK. Lost a deposit twice. Once when I changed the ship I wanted to cruise on. And just this last week when I cancelled a cruise leaving in August this year. Both times full deposit that I had paid was lost. Guess it's different for UK bookings Sent from my iPhone using Forums

leaveitallbehind Posted January 14, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Confirmed. Travel agents may charge their own cancellation fees but Royal does not. Edit. Applies to North American bookings. To that, IMO I would avoid booking through a TA that charges any seperate fee not charged directly by the cruise line for originating, modifying, or canceling a booking made through them. There are those that do but many that do not. Ask those questions first before booking. Edited January 14, 2017 by leaveitallbehind
