Kellie6143 Posted January 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2017 So I booked 2 balcony cabins on the Breakaway. One for myself and my husband and the other for my 4 kids. My oldest (22) just told me she's not going which leaves my other 3 in the room without an adult. I did book adjoining rooms with the guidance of NCL when I expressed to them that I was afraid my oldest wouldn't go. My question is, if the invoice is in my name with their names as guest in the room, is it technically my room? (Asking so I know in case they say it's her room). Both invoices are in my name and both rooms fully paid on my credit card. This is my first cruise and I'm a nervous wreck and I have no idea what to expect. Thank you so much for whatever advice you can give me.
casofilia Posted January 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Get in touch with NCL. Change booking to have you and 2 children in 1 cabin and husband and 1 child in the other (or the other way round) I presume it is not after final payment and you can remove the 4th child. When you get on board rearrange the family accommodation as you want.
Kellie6143 Posted January 22, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 22, 2017 It is after final payment. If I change rooms around then I believe I lose all my perks. Not to concerned about the money I lose on her because I knew that was a probability when I booked, my concern is the rooms. I had expressed my concerns to NCL and was told if I have connecting rooms, there won't be any issue. It also states the same on their site about minors. I've just read a few threads on here and scared myself half to death.

Have NCL move the adult passenger down in the booking (to passenger 3 or 4) and then call back a few days later (Cannot be done the same day) and remove them completely. You shouldn't have to change your booking and lose your perks in this case. Edited January 22, 2017 by Casino Comp Chick

You aren't clear in that respect Connecting has an interior door Adjoining are side by side with no interior door Check the deck plans Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited January 22, 2017 by luvtheships
rocklinmom Posted January 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Yes if you have two connecting cabins (interior door connecting between) it shouldn't be a problem.
skeeter195 Posted January 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Also cancel your daughter ASAP. If there is still time you may get at least 25% of her fare back. You will definitely get here taxes and port charges back though. We had to no-show last year and got a surprise check in the mail about 3 weeks later for our fees and taxes. Kellie6143 Posted January 23, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted January 23, 2017 I can't cancel her because they said I need to have an adult on paper in her room.
rocklinmom Posted January 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2017 If your balcony cabins are connecting, you should be able to have NCL move your husband to the other cabin (for the booking only, it would still be him with you and the remaining 3 kids in the other when you're actually there). And they could then cancel your daughter.
Kellie6143 Posted January 23, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted January 23, 2017 They said I can't because that would change all my packages.NCL said I am fine because in paper I have an adult in the room and as long as I have connecting rooms, I don't technically need an adult in there. She also said that I won't have any issue being that she is technically the lead in that room. I asked if I would lose the room if she doesn't show up and she told me absolutely not. Even though the room is in her name (my name and CC on the invoice) because I am the parent of all 4 of them, I will be fine. Still very nervous
luvtheships Posted January 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Don't be nervous. This stuff happens all the time and ncl knows what to do They aren't as stupid as they sometimes appear to be Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cb at sea Posted January 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Since there's no refund due, just have her be a "no-show".. once on the ship, they don't care who is in each cabin.
Tiggertastic Posted January 23, 2017 #13 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Switch an adult and child over. We would book an adult in each cabin with kids then when we board put kids together and adults together. Guest relations are happy to print extra keys to each other's. sandyh85 Posted January 24, 2017 #14 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Any chance your daughter and I share the same name? I am 100% willing to take her place and offer you peace of mind - especially if your other 2 kids are old enough to not need a babysitter (though I can probably take a night or two for a free cruise)! Meet you in Miami? :):):):)
