Both will open bookings around 330 days before the first flight date. However, don't assume (a) that the schedules won't change in the meantime, or (b) that you'll get the best price by booking right when the booking period opens. Prices can and do fall (as the airlines get a better handle on demand and their internal operating costs) during the booking period, before (usually) rising as the flight date approaches.

Also keep in mind that while you can book your outbound flight around 330 days out you will have to wait to book your return until you are inside that same 330 day window for the return. That often means waiting a week to two before you can book a RT flight.

United is just as bad with those changes. On our Alaska cruise last year from Vancouver I had to call 5 or 6 times as we dealt with the changes, schedules, aircraft, vanishing seats..it was not fun but we got there in the end. Bottom line is you need to be vigilant and check weekly.
